The countdown is on! โฐ 1 DAY TO go until the push up challenge starts!

From June 3 to 26, weโ€™re pushing for better, together.

3,307 push-ups in 24 days, representing the 3,307 lives lost to su***de last year. Every life matters, and behind every number is a person, a family, a community.

This June, we move, connect, and prioritise mental health to help change the statistic for the better.

HELLO JUNE, HELLO PRIDE MONTH ๐ŸŒˆ

This Pride Month, headspace Upper Coomera celebrates the LGBTQIA+ community and recognises the importance of safe, inclusive and supportive spaces for all young people.

Pride is about visibility, community, self-expression and the freedom to be your authentic self. Itโ€™s also a reminder that many LGBTQIA+ young people continue to face challenges, discrimination and barriers to support and why allyship and inclusion matter every day of the year.

Throughout June, weโ€™ll be sharing resources, community events and ways to support the Rainbow community and allies ๐Ÿ’š

To every young person in our community: you belong here ๐Ÿซถ Happy Pride! ๐ŸŒˆโœจ

National Reconciliation Week (27 May โ€“ 3 June) is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures and achievements, and explore how we can all contribute to reconciliation ๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ’›โค๏ธ

This yearโ€™s theme, All In, is a reminder that reconciliation isnโ€™t passive, it takes all of us showing up, listening, learning and taking action in our everyday lives.

At headspace, we acknowledge the strength, resilience and leadership of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities. We also recognise that reconciliation is an ongoing commitment, one built through respect, truth-telling, connection and meaningful action. Weโ€™re committed to creating culturally safe, inclusive and welcoming spaces for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people, families and communities.

This week, take time to learn from First Nations voices, reflect on the true history of this country and think about what being all in for reconciliation looks like for you.

Today, May 26 is National Sorry Day.
ย
A day to remember and acknowledge the strength, resilience and survival of the Stolen Generation survivors, their families and communities. It is also time to recognise the ongoing impact of forced child removal and the way these impacts continue to affect First Nations families and communities today.
ย
At headspace, we believe all First Nations young people deserve access to culturally safe, inclusive and healing-centered care.

If youโ€™re a young person needing support with your social or emotional wellbeing, today or any day, support is available. Visit the link in our bio to access resources from yarn space.
