We're still thinking about our event last Friday, the Women in Tourism Annual Long Lunch: Power of Pink! 🩷

Over 100 women joined us at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary dressed in pink to support the Gold Coast Hospital Foundation through Pink Up Gold Coast.

We raised an incredible $5,600 which will go directly toward transport for cancer patients travelling to and from their vital oncology appointments, around 70 trips in total.

The Women in Tourism Annual Long Lunch: Power of Pink is on today from 11:30am at the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary.

Parking is free onsite, just let the attendant know you're here for the event.

About 10 minutes of walking will be required to get to the venue space, so please keep this in mind when choosing your footwear. And don’t forget to add a splash of pink to your outfit!

Tomorrow's WIT Annual Long Lunch - Power of Pink, will bring together three incredible women:

🌸 Dr Heidi Peverill, Specialist Breast and General Surgeon at Queensland Breast Care Centre, who will share her expertise on breast cancer treatment, patient care and the advances she's witnessing in this space.

🌸 Lorretta Wiggins, Clinical Nurse Consultant at Queensland Health, who will discuss the new technology at Gold Coast University Hospital that's changing how breast tumours are located before surgery.

🌸 Felicity Merrick, a well known member of the industry here on the Gold Coast, who will talk about her own experience as a patient and why no two breast cancer experiences look the same.

All guided by our emcee Emma Lovell.

Next Friday, 9 October we’re thinking pink 💗

Women In Tourism is partnering with Pink Up Gold Coast to raise funds for the Gold Coast Hospital Foundation and their support of cancer patients through their Cancer Patient Transport Programme.

Every year around 532 GC women are diagnosed with breast cancer. Our speaker, Loretta Wiggins, Clinical Nurse Consultant for Cancer and Blood disorders, will be discussing the latest treatments being used at the Gold Coast University Hospital.

Join us for an afternoon of networking, delicious food, and fundraising. All raffle and auction proceeds will go through Pink Up GC to the Gold Coast Hospital Foundation!
