🐊What an end to MBAW with a Wildlife experience at David Fleay Wildlife Park 🐍 The kids (& adults) got to get up close on personal with some slippery critters and had amazing times watch all the shows!!

🔹Next Week is MBAW 2026🔹
Multiple Birth Awareness Week (MBAW) is a national campaign to raise awareness around, and draw attention to, the unique realities for multiple birth families in Australia - and how advocacy, positive education and engaged communities can contribute to enabling positive health outcomes for families with multiples.

In 2026, the theme for MBAW is: Connected. Supported. Stronger
This Multiple Birth Awareness Week our hope is that by the end of the week, multiple birth parents feel more connected, more supported, and more aware of their own strength — part of a village that understands and uplifts them.

🐨It's time to get your Ranger gear on for MBAW!🐊

When: Sunday 22 March 2026, 9:30am-1:30pm
Where: David Fleay Wildlife Park, 244-252 West Burleigh Road, Burleigh Heads QLD 4220
What: David Fleay Wildlife Experience!! Bring your multiples for a morning of wildlife fun. Your family tickets includes entry to the park as well as an exclusive Wildlife Experience with the Queensland National Park Rangers.

*Exclusive Wildlife presentation at 10am.* Please arrive early to ensure entry prior. We will be gathering as a group for the presentation (30 min) and then can all catch up, and you will be able to explore the park at your leisure. Stay for a bit, or the entire day! Please note that this is a BYO event for food, drinks etc. Cafe also available on site.

David Fleay Wildlife Park is home to many native animals. Strolling around the park is easy - there is lots of shade and stopping spots, it's safe for younger and older kids. (prams welcome & easy to navigate around the park) The animals are displayed in surroundings similar to their natural habitats. During a stroll around the park, you can find-
- the endangered southern cassowary from the rainforests of North Queensland
- the playful platypus
- freshwater and estuarine (saltwater) crocodiles
- the near threatened Lumholtz's tree- kangaroo
- yellow-bellied gliders and endangered mahogany gliders
- the wedge-tailed eagle
- a variety of snakes..... to name but a few.

Bring a picnic and have a seat at one of the many spots available to rest, or grab a bite to eat at the onsite cafe (hot & cold food available, as well as coffee).
It's going to be an amazingly fun morning for the kids, and a fabulous opportunity to socialise with other Multiple parents!

Cost - Free for current financial members!
Non Financial members: $40 per family*

🙋🏻‍♀️Welcome to GCMBA'S new Play & Connect!!!
Are you a mum or dad of twins and want to connect more with other parents? Then this might be for you!

Come and join us Thursday 15th Jan at the Nerang Uniting Church Community room at 9:30am.

The room is fully air-conditioned with a kitchen to make coffees 🍪🧁

We have mats & pillows out for the little kids & a large enclosed outdoor area with a playground for the bigger kids with more energy! 🛝🛴

Our group is hosted by Leanne Kim Carter a mum of 4 year old twin girls and Jill Fischmann a twin mum & lifetime member of GCMBA.

If you are keen to come please let us know. We would love to start the new year welcoming some new families to our group.

The group is completely free for attendees, so come along and find your people. 🤗

Final Playgroup for 2025 ☃️

The final playgroup for 2025! And we are making it a festive one!!! 🎄🎉

We will have Christmas crafts & treats so come in your best Chrissy gear!🍪🍬

🎄Everyone is welcome, make the most of this opportunity to round out the year with a relaxed catch up with friends before the silly season starts. We would love to see you.🎅

➡️This playgroup is focused on all ages with minimal setup and toys, as it’s all about parents and caregivers connecting with each other. Our playgroup is a great opportunity to meet some fellow twin (& HOM) families in a safe environment.

🛝🛴We have a dedicated outdoor fully fenced playground for the kids to run around, indoor air conditioned hall with big mats & pillows to put out for the little ones to crawl & relax. Kitchen facilities and toilets.

Tea and coffee facilities are provided! Feel free to bring along some food to share.

Location: Nerang Uniting Church, 5 Nerang River Drive, Nerang

Time: 9:30 to 11:30am - come along anytime in that period.

Our very own VP! Bianca Bowman Congratulations on your new job! They are very lucky to have you, as are we 🫶🏽

Last week we welcomed Bianca Bowman to the Division 9 office in a part time capacity to support the team, as Courtney winds back a day to enjoy some time with her young family.

Most recently, Bianca was managing the marketing services for a Brisbane-based retirement living operator, and she has extensive marketing, operational and project management experience in the tourism and hospitality sectors.

Having grown up in South Australia, Bianca’s now been living on the southern Gold Coast for 4 years and says she loves the laidback lifestyle on offer.

A mum to 3 year old twins, Bianca’s leisure time is mostly filled with playground visits and watching episodes of Bluey! But when she can squeeze it in, Bianca loves mat Pilates, going for walks by the beach and she enjoys relaxing on the back deck with a glass of wine in hand!

A passionate advocate for the Multiple Birth community, you might also find Bianca volunteering at a Gold Coast Multiple Birth Association (GCMBA) event, helping to fundraise and provide a network of support for other families with twins (and triplets and more) across the Gold Coast.

🍔For the month of August, GCMBA is one of 3 organisations that have been chosen for Grill'd Nobby's Beach Local Matters charity funds recipients. So we are in the running to with $300!!💰💰

All you have to do, is pop in order a burger...or two 😬 and pop the token they give you into the GCMBA jar! Send us a pic when you do it! We'd love to see it! 📲
