📢Help Needed!

One of the families in our community needs our help. Unfortunately they had a devastating fire and lost everything - they have 4 month old twins & now need help to replace everything.

Her friend has compiled a list of what they need to help out which is-

2 cots & sheets

Uv steriliser

Bottle brush

Pigeon bottles and t***s 6m +

Feeding pillow

Twin pillows

Sleep sacks 00 size

Nappies size 3 and water wipes

Terry cloth towels

Bath towels baby

📣GCMBA 2026 AGM Recap

✨Last night the GCMBA had our annual Annual General Meeting. Thank you to all who attended, and those who sent in proxy votes, it is very much appreciated.👏

🙏I would encourage anyone who is interested in volunteering their time to join our committee. The GCMBA would not exist without those who volunteer their time and we need more volunteers to continue to be able to support multiple birth families in the community.

📢Reminder- GCMBA AGM next Thursday!

Dear Members,

We are pleased to invite you to the 2026 Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Gold Coast Multiple Birth Association Inc (GCMBA).

The details of the meeting are as follows:

Date: Thursday 28th May 2026

Time: 8:00pm

Place: Online, via Google Meet

At the meeting, financial members will have the opportunity to

speak about any items on the agenda, vote on any resolutions proposed as well as -

* accept the minutes of the last annual general meeting

* accept the auditor’s report

* accept the annual financial statements

* appoint an auditor for next year

* elect committee members

👉🏻Details of proxy appointment:

All financial member are invited to participate in the AGM either via attendance on the night, or by the provision of proxy vote.

Form of proxy are to be provided via the online forms by 5pm on Thursday 28th May 2026.

(ALL FORMS IN EMAIL THAT WAS SENT OUT TO FINANCIAL MEMBERS)

A reminder only financial members of GCMBA are entitled to vote and become committee members.

🫶🏻National Volunteer Week 🫶🏻
This week May 18 to 24 is National Volunteer Week & we want to give a massive shout out to our Volunteer Committee members.

Thank you for everything that you do to support the multiple birth community, while being twin mums, working full time & being generally amazing. The GCMBA would not be able to run or exist without everything you do. THANKYOU 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

🤳🏻This year's theme is "Your Year to Volunteer" and I would encourage anyone who is thinking of taking an hour or so out of their month to support multiple birth families to do it now! GCMBA is run by volunteers alone & we need all the support we can get.

🐊What an end to MBAW with a Wildlife experience at David Fleay Wildlife Park 🐍 The kids (& adults) got to get up close on personal with some slippery critters and had amazing times watch all the shows!!

Multiple Birth Awareness Week (MBAW) is a national campaign to raise awareness around, and draw attention to, the unique realities for multiple birth families in Australia - and how advocacy, positive education and engaged communities can contribute to enabling positive health outcomes for families with multiples.

In 2026, the theme for MBAW is: Connected. Supported. Stronger
This Multiple Birth Awareness Week our hope is that by the end of the week, multiple birth parents feel more connected, more supported, and more aware of their own strength — part of a village that understands and uplifts them.

✨MBAW 2026: Sunday 15 March to Sunday 22 March.✨

🐨It's time to get your Ranger gear on for MBAW!🐊

When: Sunday 22 March 2026, 9:30am-1:30pm
Where: David Fleay Wildlife Park, 244-252 West Burleigh Road, Burleigh Heads QLD 4220
What: David Fleay Wildlife Experience!! Bring your multiples for a morning of wildlife fun. Your family tickets includes entry to the park as well as an exclusive Wildlife Experience with the Queensland National Park Rangers.

*Exclusive Wildlife presentation at 10am.* Please arrive early to ensure entry prior. We will be gathering as a group for the presentation (30 min) and then can all catch up, and you will be able to explore the park at your leisure. Stay for a bit, or the entire day! Please note that this is a BYO event for food, drinks etc. Cafe also available on site.

David Fleay Wildlife Park is home to many native animals. Strolling around the park is easy - there is lots of shade and stopping spots, it's safe for younger and older kids. (prams welcome & easy to navigate around the park) The animals are displayed in surroundings similar to their natural habitats. During a stroll around the park, you can find-
- the endangered southern cassowary from the rainforests of North Queensland
- the playful platypus
- freshwater and estuarine (saltwater) crocodiles
- the near threatened Lumholtz's tree- kangaroo
- yellow-bellied gliders and endangered mahogany gliders
- the wedge-tailed eagle
- a variety of snakes..... to name but a few.

Bring a picnic and have a seat at one of the many spots available to rest, or grab a bite to eat at the onsite cafe (hot & cold food available, as well as coffee).
It's going to be an amazingly fun morning for the kids, and a fabulous opportunity to socialise with other Multiple parents!

Cost - Free for current financial members!
Non Financial members: $40 per family*
