Friends of Glenorchy Pool inc aims to ensure the future of Glenorchy War Memorial Pool.

The Glenorchy War Memorial Pool is going to come back bigger and better than ever.

It may not be opening this season but once the repairs are completed, we will be enjoying our beautiful, open air pool once again.

That is something we all can feel proud of ☺️

The community demanded transparency from Glenorchy City Council regarding the future of Glenorchy War Memorial Pool.

We fought to ensure that the pool would remain in operation and that efforts would also be taken to ensure the long term future of the pool.

Here we have another update from GCC showing progress on the repairs of the pool and amenities.

With thanks to everyone who supported the continued operation of Glenorchy Pool and to GCC for providing updates🙏

Who else is waiting for those first season passes to drop the second the pool is reopened?

🤚 I pledge to swim daily and NEVER take Glenorchy War Memorial Pool for granted again!

The citizens of 1950s Glenorchy worked relentlessly to bring our pool into existence. The land the pool sits on today was gifted to Glenorchy council for recreational use, to serve the whole community.

It's our duty to make sure the people will ALWAYS have a pool to depend on and that the long term pool redevelopment plan is secured and funded BEFORE the repaired pool reaches it's next 'end of life'

Feel proud?

The community fought for this.

Glenorchy War Memorial Pool will continue serving the community as a hub of health and recreation (for the short term at least)

It's a vital facility worth fighting for and we will continue to fight so that Glenorchy will have a pool for the next several generations.
