For over 37 years, providing Specialist services, care and support for people with disabilities and their families and carers.

Our unique and specialised variety of Day Support and out of hours activities run over a seven day week and include:

* Vocational training in hospitality (Certificate 1 Hospitality)
* operation of “The Old Chapel” Tea Rooms AND “The Car Yard Cafe”
* a catering enterprise (receptions, business lunches, morning teas etc)
* the Aurora Learning Centre – Equal Access in Literacy
* Implementation of the Brain-Science Literacy program Fast ForWord®
* Cottage Industry production of high quality hand crafted goods
* Weekly ten pin bowling league (with up to 60 bowlers each week)
* Weekly “Club Tea” social meals
* Monthly Karaoke Idol Dance
* life-skills education; music and dance sessions; creative art sessions; swimming; sports; operation of our own in-house radio station; excursions; transport support service; counselling, referral and information service
* essential respite for families and carers. We are registered with the National Disability Insurance Agency to provide:

• Assistance to access and maintain employment
• Participation in community, social and civic activities
• Development of daily living and life skills
• Assistance with daily personal activities
• Assistance with travel/transport arrangements
• Training for independence in travel and transport
• Other innovative supports

We were treated like Kings and Queens this week, when invited by hospitality students of Guilford Young College to be their guests for brunch and afternoon tea 🎂 And what a delectable spread it was!! High Tea platters of delicious ribbon sandwiches, lemon slice, brownies, hedgehog slice, scrumptious fetta and spinach pastries, quiches and scones .... with beautiful coffees and refreshing milkshakes! Thank you sincerely for treating us all so well, with an amazing spread and the absolute best service! ❤️

Yeah!! for AURORA bowlers, bringing home the Perpetual Trophy! What a finish to an amazing long weekend with 120 bowlers from around Tassie coming together for the Tasmanian Disability State TenPin Bowling Championships. There was certainly lots of medals clinking as we left Launceston!! Special congratulations also to Lisa Kelly from the North West Multicap team - who was presented with the Virginia Cairns Memorial Medal for outstanding sportsmanship and great team spirit shown throughout the event. Well done to all our bowlers for doing Aurora so proud!! 🎳 🏆

AURORA Karaoke at its best!! It is with great sadness we learned the recent passing of our dear friend Todd, a regular Karaoke STAR at the Aurora dances. Todd was a true gentleman with a wonderfully warm heart, considerate and kind, and always had a smile for everyone - and he loved to sing! Our thoughts are very much with Todd's family at this sad time. Todd will be dearly missed, but our friendships with him will be forever cherished by many ❤️ xx

There must be some happy LIONS supporters amongst the Footy Fever Dance goers who attended the Aurora Idol Karaoke Dance on Friday night! Big congratulations to Jesse who arrived in his own amazing Tigerland Football float, and also won best male disco dancer of the night!
