For over 37 years, providing Specialist services, care and support for people with disabilities and their families and carers.

Our unique and specialised variety of Day Support and out of hours activities run over a seven day week and include:

* Vocational training in hospitality (Certificate 1 Hospitality)
* operation of “The Old Chapel” Tea Rooms AND “The Car Yard Cafe”
* a catering enterprise (receptions, business lunches, morning teas etc)
* the Aurora Learning Centre – Equal Access in Literacy
* Imple

mentation of the Brain-Science Literacy program Fast ForWord®
* Cottage Industry production of high quality hand crafted goods
* Weekly ten pin bowling league (with up to 60 bowlers each week)
* Weekly “Club Tea” social meals
* Monthly Karaoke Idol Dance
* life-skills education; music and dance sessions; creative art sessions; swimming; sports; operation of our own in-house radio station; excursions; transport support service; counselling, referral and information service
* essential respite for families and carers. We are registered with the National Disability Insurance Agency to provide:

• Assistance to access and maintain employment
• Participation in community, social and civic activities
• Development of daily living and life skills
• Assistance with daily personal activities
• Assistance with travel/transport arrangements
• Training for independence in travel and transport
• Other innovative supports

Beautiful shells and colourful feathers, brilliant rainbows, sparkly jewellery and incredibly unique and vibrant artwork.... so many treasured memories. Dearly loved, we remember the cherished life of Virginia, now gone from us four years. Virginia’s spirit, her resilience, the immeasurable impact her valued life had to improve the lives of others, her very being continues to enhance the future for so many. Singing and dancing with the angels, somewhere over the rainbow 🌈 ❤️

Presentation Day - a wonderful showcase of amazing educational achievement that provides opportunity for recognition of learning. Students and their Tutors have been busy researching chosen topics and preparing their information of interest to proudly share with us all. Happy 38th Anniversary AURORA! From humble beginnings, 30th May 1988 was the opening date of our day support and respite services facility in the historical building known as The Barn, at Chigwell. With non existent funding and only volunteer support, we commenced transporting people from the Eastern Shore at our own expense, and started Club Tea evening meals within weeks, with the help of a wonderful neighbour who would help prepare veggies. Aurora scheduled its first activity - a camp at Ida Bay Railway (near Dover), with 25 campers enjoying four days of friendship together .... Yesterday we remembered this special time, and it was lovely that Founding Member Enid Stacey was able to join us to help celebrate. Such a wealth of amazing history we have - Happy Anniversary to all of our Aurora Family!! 🥳 🎉 🎊 🍾 🥂 🎂

Aurora TenPin Bowling League 🎳 Club Championships Day 2 - and another exceptional day of competition bowling! Best singles, best doubles, best teams, encouragement awards, most improved, best of all events, best pinfalls, above average, Turkeys, Stars, such fantastic achievements!! So many happy faces and a highly successful event - well done everyone!! 🎳

Congratulations Michael Heffernan!! Bowler of the Year and recipient of the Virginia Cairns Memorial Medal awarded today at the Aurora Tenpin Bowling League Club Championships. This special award is presented to a person who demonstrates exceptional sportsmanship, respect for fellow bowlers, and a supportive team spirit. Michael consistently displays a humble regard for his fellow bowlers, is held in high regard by his team mates, and his fairness and willingness to assist is always appreciated. So very deserved, Michael, well done!

Another wonderful Aurora week - catering, sewing, crafting, Radio Aurora, packing away our hundreds of Anzac baskets, and enjoying the beautiful Autumn days with some fresh air exercise and the crunch of fallen leaves! Have a brilliant weekend everyone!
