Enjoy a few happy pics of some fantastic activities over the past few weeks... Trainees have enjoyed creating colourful mosaic pieces, admiring exhibitions at the SaiGon Art Gallery, enjoying pottery classes making platters ready for Christmas sales, tending our parsley planters, baking delicious carrot and banana muffins at the Cafe, creating unique bird feeders, taking yoga and stretch sessions, painting a beautiful rejuvenation of our Mill Lane planter seat and catering delicious cupcakes for "Wear it Purple" day. Happy weekend everyone!! 😀 🌞 ⛱️ 🐎

7,700 people sustain an acquired brain injury every year in Tasmania.... and today we took great pleasure in visiting the beautiful display of 7,700 hearts created in recognition of these people. Every imaginable colour and style and stitch and material and saltdough design had been made with absolute care in every one created. A great credit to the Brain Injury Association of Tasmania and everyone who contributed their little piece of love towards this project. Whilst at the Moonah Arts Centre, Trainees also enjoyed viewing an exhibition of Local Stories, and Layla enjoyed meeting local artist Robin Petterd who was showing his own art display entitled "Like A Tree". A truly inspiring day ❤️

Congratulations to our wonderful friends at Guilford Young College on their brilliant Broadway production of Mary Poppins. The invitation for Aurora Trainees to attend these performances was very much appreciated, and we were yet again amazed by the incredibly talented students who performed. Thoroughly enjoyed!!

We were excited to recently be approached by the Brain Injury Association of Tasmania, and requested to be part of their Hearts for Brain Injury Project, for National Brain Injury Awareness Week 17-23 August. Their goal is to create 7,700 hearts to represent 7,700 Tasmanians who suffer acquired brain injury every year. The 7,700 hearts will be part of an art installation, with individual hearts to be later shared in the community. Aurora Trainees busily produced 400 beautiful coloured hearts, all made of salt dough, and were very proud to contribute their efforts in support of this fantastic community event. Aurora Disability Services is very pleased to be part of this fantastic project, and we wish our friends at BIAT all the best for their upcoming special week ❤️ 💙 💜
