Period Pain – Customer Review

While some discomfort during periods is common, pain that stops you from going to school, work, sport, social activities, or simply getting through the day is not something you should have to just put up with.

Severe period pain can be a sign of conditions such as endometriosis, adenomyosis, or other health concerns. If your period pain is affecting your quality of life, it's worth talking to a healthcare professional.

Because "just period pain" shouldn't come with a one or two-star review. 💛

🚗🐾 Ron Swanson’s got an appointment... or so he thinks!

Spotted outside Family Planning Tasmania, Ron was looking very pleased with himself and ready to see what all the fuss was about.

While we can't confirm he booked online, we can confirm he takes his role as community greeter very seriously.

Whether you're popping in for information or an appointment, our clinics are here to provide safe, inclusive, and confidential sexual and reproductive health care for our Tasmanian community.

Ron gives us two paws up! 🐶🐾

The sonic boom earlier this week certainly got Tasmania talking.

While we can’t help identify unexplained noises from the sky, we can answer questions about the birds and the bees. 🐝✨

From contraception and STI testing to pelvic health, fertility and menopause support, Family Planning Tasmania is here for everyone – because sexual and reproductive health is part of overall health and wellbeing.

No loud bang required to start the conversation. 💬

🏰 When a new condom delivery arrives at Family Planning Tasmania...

Some organisations unpack stock.
We build a castle. 🏰
And a wall between desks. 🧱
And maybe a game of Condom Jenga. 😄

While our team had a little fun with our latest delivery, there's a serious reason we're always happy to see our condom supplies arrive. At FPT we want to Protect your Pleasure.

Condoms are the only form of contraception that help protect against both unintended pregnancy and sexually transmissible infections (STIs). They're affordable, easy to use, and an important part of looking after your sexual health.

Whether you're sexually active now, planning ahead, or just want to be prepared, having condoms on hand is always a good idea.

📍 Condoms are available at all three Family Planning Tasmania clinics, making it easy to access the protection you need when you need it.

Because while condom castles are impressive... their real superpower is helping people take control of their sexual and reproductive health. 💜

Friendly reminder: Our final Persistent Pelvic Pain Workshop in this series is happening next Monday at 6:30pm!

Persistent pelvic pain doesn't respect calendars, productivity, or your weekend plans. If you're living with ongoing pelvic pain, you're not alone — and support is available.

Join our multidisciplinary team of experts to better understand persistent pelvic pain and learn practical strategies to help you reconnect with your body. You'll hear from:

👩‍⚕️ A clinician
💪 A pelvic floor physiotherapist
🧠 A pain psychologist
🥗 A dietitian

Plus, stay for a 20-minute guided group discussion led by one of our clinicians — a supportive space to reflect, ask questions, and connect with others who understand.

Who can attend? No referral is needed. These workshops are open to people of all genders experiencing persistent pelvic pain, whether you're a Family Planning Tasmania patient or are seeing an external GP or gynaecologist.

🎟️ This is the last workshop in the current series, so register now to secure your ticket before places fill up.

The Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain GP Clinic is supported by funding from Primary Health Tasmania (Tasmania PHN) through the Australian Government's Primary Health Networks Program.

“Vuh-jy-nuh” or “vag-ih-nuh” — however you pronounce it, your va**nal and v***a health matters!

Here are some simple ways to help keep your va**na and v***a healthy 👇

✨ Avoid va**nal douches, soaps, fragranced moisturisers and talcum powder on v***al skin
✨ Choose breathable underwear, such as cotton or bamboo
✨ Use a water-based lubricant during in*******se — especially when using condoms
✨ Always wipe from front to back to help prevent bacteria from spreading to the v***a and va**na

Your va**na and v***a are pretty good at looking after themselves — sometimes they just need a little support 💖

If something doesn’t feel right, don’t ignore it. A check-up with one of our sexual and reproductive health professionals can help. Book online or give us a call!

Our CEO Marcus and Clinical Services Manager Karen were delighted to be part of the Leprena UAICC launch in Kingston at the Uniting Church in Jindabyne Road last Thursday.

It was wonderful to celebrate the opening of a new community space that will foster connection, culture, and wellbeing. We were honoured to participate in the smoking ceremony and experience Aboriginal culture through dance and community.

The event was a fantastic celebration of community and a great opportunity to connect with others who are committed to supporting and strengthening healthy and inclusive communities.

And while the experience was memorable for all involved, Karen wasn't quite as enthusiastic when it came to trying the muttonbird! 😊

Congratulations to everyone involved in bringing this important community space to life. We look forward to seeing the positive impact it will have for years to come.
