We partner with grassroots service providers to support girls and their communities in times of adversity. Since our beginning we have aimed to highlight and address the key drivers of gender bias including; financial barriers, lack of leadership opportunities, isolation, gender stereotypes and barriers to physical activity. We use netball as the vehicle for that change as it addresses emotional, social and physical well-being. Netball is a sport by women, for women and we're proud to engage with the netball community to improve the lives of women and girls.

It’s a reflection of the hard work and dedication Courtney puts into her game, but what makes her so special extends well beyond the court.

A huge thank you to Morgans for their generous support of the Confident Girls Foundation💜

For girls living in regional and remote communities, access to sporting opportunities can look very different. With the support of Morgans, we’re able to help community groups deliver netball opportunities that bring girls together and ensure more young people can experience everything our game has to offer.

The Radars in Cairns, featured in these photos, are a wonderful example of what this support can make possible. Without this funding, these girls may not have had the opportunity to take the court, play netball and be part of their team.We know the impact reaches well beyond the netball court. It’s about friendships, confidence, connection and creating opportunities for girls to participate, grow and feel part of something bigger.

We’re incredibly grateful to Morgans for helping us remove barriers and create more opportunities for girls and communities across Australia.

For many years, the Ian and Shirley Norman Foundation has stood alongside the Confident Girls Foundation in supporting opportunities for First Nations girls and women to connect, participate and progress through netball.

Their continued support helps strengthen pathways that celebrate culture, community and connection, while creating opportunities for First Nations girls and women to see themselves represented throughout our game.

Their longstanding support of the Black Swans continues to help create a powerful platform for First Nations talent, culture and connection within netball.

Celebrating Sheridan’s legacy 💜

As we reflect on a wonderful 2026 Marie Little Shield, we wanted to take a moment to recognise the Apter family and their generous support of the Confident Girls Foundation and this year’s tournament.

Netball was a huge part of Sheridan Apter’s life. For 27 years, she gave so much to the game as a player, umpire, coach and mentor, building lifelong connections along the way.

Following Sheridan’s passing in September 2025, her family wanted to create a legacy that reflected who she was and the important place netball held in her life.

Through Sheridan’s Big Night Out, the Apter family have generously supported the Confident Girls Foundation, with their contribution helping support this year’s Marie Little Shield.

We were honoured to welcome members of the Apter family to the tournament’s opening afternoon tea and recognise their contribution with a small gift of thanks.

The Marie Little Shield is about opportunity, connection, confidence and belonging, making it incredibly special to have Sheridan’s legacy connected to this event.

We love seeing the impact of Unilever x Confident Girls Foundation grant funding coming to life across Queensland 💜

With the generous support of Unilever, Netball Queensland recently hit the road, travelling to Miles and St George to connect with regional communities and deliver programs that give more young people the opportunity to experience and enjoy netball.

From a NetSetGo session at Miles State School and Little Nettys at a local kindergarten, to umpiring development and time spent connecting with the St George netball community, it was a fantastic weekend of participation, learning and connection.

The Confident Girls Foundation is proud to work alongside Unilever to support programs like these, helping Netball Queensland create more opportunities for girls to participate, connect and build confidence through netball, no matter where they live.

A huge thank you to the Netball Queensland team and all of the associations, schools, educators, volunteers and families who helped bring these programs to life.

We can’t wait to see the continued impact of this funding across Queensland! 💜🏐

What an incredible day in Sydney! 💜

A huge THANK YOU to Father’s of Girls for supporting the Confident Girls Foundation through their Sydney Lunch and raising funds to help us continue creating opportunities for girls and young women through netball.

We were also lucky enough to hear from some amazing guest speakers, including Confident Girls Foundation Board Member Gabbi Stubbs, Megan Dickinson from the Live Life Whole Project and AFL legend Jude Bolton.

We are so grateful for the work Fathers of Girls do to champion and empower girls, and to highlight the important role fathers and positive male role models can play in their lives.

The most special part of this partnership is knowing that these fathers are choosing to support girls beyond their own daughters. Girls they may never meet. Girls from communities very different from their own. Girls who simply deserve the same opportunity to participate, belong, build confidence and dream big.

There is something pretty special about fathers coming together not just to create a better world for their girls, but for all girls.

Thank you, Fathers of Girls. We are incredibly grateful to have you in our corner, and we can’t wait for the upcoming Brisbane Lunch! 💜
