Introducing Robyn, one of the amazing nurse practitioners who is part of our Women's Health Mobile Clinic team. 💗

This International Day of Rural Women we sat down with Robyn to learn about the services that are offered as part of the Mobile Clinic, as well as barriers women and girls living rural and regionally may face to access essential healthcare services.

Today and everyday, we recognise the importance of access to healthcare for every one. 🫶

The service is for women and teenagers, and offers free, 45 minute confidential appointments. To learn more about the Women's Health Mobile Clinic, and where it will be visiting next head to the link below.

We are sharing new audio explainers in Arabic, English, Mandarin, Punjabi, Spanish and Turkish across the MVA network to help communities understand when they are eligible for a free breast screen and why early detection matters.

This week we acknowledged Breast Cancer Awareness Month (BCAM) with an all staff session to celebrate the moments that matter. This ranged from incredible staff milestones, to reaching impressive research project outcomes.

It's important to take the time to celebrate moments big and small across our organisation as it's a reminder of the work we do for our clients everyday. ❤️✨

The session was an invitation to pause during our work day and gather with colleagues to create space for connection, reflection, and appreciation. 🫶

This month, and every month is an opportunity to raise awareness about prevention and early detection of breast cancer. It is also a great reminder to prioritise our health, and have conversations with those around us to do the same.

And that's a wrap for September! ✅

This month has been filled with incredible community engagement activities, focusing on raising awareness about our program and supporting communities to access our free service.
Our team was busy with Women's Health Forum, information engagement sessions, and a Presentation at the Public Health Association of Australia Conference and organising group bookings.

A special thanks to our partners GenWest, Chisholm Institute, Maroondah City Council, Mitchell Shire, Zonta International, Djirra, Western Bulldogs Community Foundation, our team, clients and community for help in making these activities possible!

In episode 3 of Behind the Screen, Eliza Alford, Program Manager at Bendigo BreastScreen, discusses the barriers that can prevent people from accessing breast screening, particularly in hard-to-reach communities.
