Amanda Jolly has an extensive background in the arts industry, serving as Executive Director of Queensland Theatre, where she worked for fifteen years, before becoming Executive Director of Queensland Youth Orchestras in 2024.

She has worked in the arts sector in the United States, Canada and Chile, serving for nine years in the Office of International Relations for the National Department of Cultures in Chile. She also has experience at the State Library of Queensland and with the Victoria State Opera.

Brisbane-born artist Jan Jorgensen studied art at Brisbane Girls Grammar, then at the now College of Art, before working as an artist on a Brisbane newspaper. After freelancing, Jan undertook an Associate Diploma of Visual Art at the College of Art, Kelvin Grove, with tutor William Robinson.

Jan co-founded the Queensland Wildlife Artists Society and exhibited for ten years before owning and running Ardrossan and Riverhouse Galleries in inner Brisbane. City paintings took over and many exhibitions in Brisbane and Sydney followed.

Jan was invited to show in numerous exhibitions including The Aberdare Prize, Brisbane City Art Gallery ‘Seeing Brisbane’, and Tattersalls Landscape Prize from 1992 – 2008, achieving several Highly Commended awards. First prizes have included L.J. Ho**er, Suncorp, Nudgee College and Downlands College.

Jan’s paintings and verse are collated in her book ‘Changing Places, Brisbane’, of which the latest edition was launched in 2017.

Dr Lara Cain Gray has built her multi-discipline career through roles in libraries and museums, through academic teaching and research, and by pursuing her passion for corporate and creative writing and editing.

In her position as Head of Publishing at non-profit publisher Library For All, she draws on her deep experience of international librarianship to deliver cross-cultural and multilingual books and educational resources to communities where poverty, history or remoteness prevents children’s access to traditional libraries.

Lara is also the author of 'The Grown-Up's Guide To Picture Books' - a picture-book-for-adults that upskills parents, carers, teachers (or anyone) to enjoy deeper reading of picture books with children – or just for themselves.
