🌊 Thank you to everyone who joined us for the opening of Inside the Inside of a Wave this weekend!

It was wonderful to celebrate this exhibition with our artists, friends and community, and to come together around the conversations, stories and creative processes at its heart.

Collectively curated by APA artist Spenser Coombe and APA gallery staff, the exhibition brings together emerging APA artists and invites audiences to look over and under, around and within each work.

We are delighted to share that APA artists will feature in Visionaries 2026 – Curated by Tali Roth⁠, at Craft Victoria.

Chris O’Brien (pictured Chris O'Brien )and a number of APA artists will be amongst 50+ artists and makers showing in Craft’s annual flagship exhibition. Curated by award winning interior designer Studio Tali Roth, the immersive Visionaries 2026 exhibition will celebrate a bold and playful approach to living with craft.⁠ ⁠ Visionaries 2026 opens 12 November – 6 February 2027.⁠

Now showing at Benalla gallery - Ross O’Meara: Coloured Grounds.

Within his practice, Ross O’Meara explores line and colour, consistently producing captivating works as part of an ongoing series. The abstracted pieces are reminiscent of long grass or reeds, the layers consisting of both dense and translucent linework. The elegant, whimsical compositions possess a soft energy and speak to slow, meditative movement. O’Meara has worked at Arts Project Australia since 2019. His work is held in private collections.

Thank you to everyone who joined us at our Studio After Dark fundraising dinner!🌝💖

We had such a fantastic night with 100 guests for a seated dinner, talks by APA artists and a live auction.

Thanks to the support of all our sponsors and the generosity of our guests we raised a total of $71,000 – a fantastic result that will directly support our artists. The generosity in the room was extraordinary!

A huge thank you to all our sponsors. A big shout out to our MC for the night - the incredible Tristan Meecham from All The Queens Men and auctioneer John Albrecht from Leonard Joel Auctions for donating their time to host this special night. A huge shout out as well to Delatite Winery for donating their incredible w**e for the evening.

Melbourne Sculpture Biennale 2026: Soft Systems considers the complex and interconnected systems that shape contemporary life. The participating artists’ diverse approaches offer different ways of critically examining these systems, and their impact on people, culture and the environment. Announcing: Inside the Inside of a Wave  ♒️

Every Wednesday at the Arts Project Australia studio, APA artist Spenser Coombe hosts a lunchtime meeting, posing questions to his peers: What things do people still collect? What are your favourite pets you have had? At the end of the working week, which foods may us people go for, as a treat? 
From these meetings, Inside the Inside of a Wave was born. Bringing together emerging artists from APA, the exhibition invites audiences to move beneath the surface of the artwork and into the lore that shapes it. 
Looking over and under, around and within, the exhibition traces the paths between idea and image, conversation and creative conception. Along the way, it reveals the infinite perspectives, processes and stories that come together to make a work of art.

Featuring: Aidan Sefo, Alessandra DiMattina, Andrew Nicolaides, Chelle DeStefano, Darcy Scott, Dave Mendelsohn, Jimmy Tran, Molica Silk, Salome Felsinger, Spenser Coombe.

It’s the final night to catch animation works by Miles Howard-Wilks and Samuel Fenech as part of Afterlight. This curated program of short digital artworks illuminates the lakeside facade of Belco Arts (Belconnen Arts Centre) throughout non-daylight savings months (April–September).

15-minute loops are projected onto the west-facing side of the Theatre, above the external café & bar seating area, playing from sundown to 9pm every evening.
