Campbelltown State Emergency Service

Campbelltown State Emergency Service Volunteers commited to their community. Call 132 500 for emergency storm or flood assistance. One major support role is in assisting the SA Police with searches.

The SES is a versatile and highly active volunteer emergency service organisation. While the primary role of the SES is to respond to incidents involving floods and storms, it also provides crucial support and assistance to other emergency service organisations. The SES also works very closely with the Bureau of Meteorology, especially during periods of extreme weather and when issuing weather- re

lated public safety advice. In a typical year in South Australia, floods and storms account for well in excess of 50% of the overall economic costs of all natural hazards (including bushfire). Therefore, being prepared for floods and storms should be a high priority for all South Australians.

📟🌳 Earlier today our crew responded to two trees down at Ashton and Carey Gully along side Eastern Suburbs State Emergency Service, Norton Summit - Ashton Country Fire Service, Carey Gully CFS and SA Power Networks.

With wet and potentially windy weather expected over the coming days, take extra care on the roads and watch for fallen trees and powerlines. 🌧️🌳

Wonderful to share such a lovely morning with our friends 🧡

Yesterday (Wednesday) was Thank a First Responder Day - an opportunity to recognise and thank our first responders for what they do for our community.

Three crew members from Basket Range CFS were invited to a morning tea at Basket Range School, along with our friends from Campbelltown State Emergency Service and Woodside Police.

The students had the opportunity to see the emergency vehicles up close and chat to the first responders.

We shared a terrific morning tea - cooked by the students - and each service was presented with a thank you card and a framed painting, painted by the students.

Thank you Basket Range Primary for the opportunity to join you for first responder day.

💙🧡 A huge thank you to Beth and Indhu from Campbelltown State Emergency Service for spending the weekend with us at training camp as volunteer missing persons.

While the dogs and handlers often get the spotlight, none of our training or assessments would be possible without people willing to give up their time to help us train. Whether it was sitting in the bush, waiting patiently to be found, or helping create realistic search scenarios, your support made a real difference.

We know it’s not always glamorous, but it is incredibly important, and we are so grateful that you chose to spend your weekend helping us develop our capability.

From all of us in Dog Ops, thank you! 🐾💙🧡

⛈️ What have you done to prepare for the weather? ⛈️ We have some *dicey* weather coming up early next week.

Have you:
🏠 Secured loose outdoor items?
🍂 Cleaned your gutters?
🌳 Checked for overhanging branches?
🚗 Parked your car safely?
🐶 Ensured your pets are safe?
🧰 Have your emergency kit ready?

📞 If storms cause damage and you require emergency storm assistance, call SES on 132 500.

Prepare today. Protect tomorrow 🧡

Secure and put away loose items around your property, such as outdoor furniture and trampolines, to stop them from being blown away and causing damage. Windy conditions have been forecast across parts of the State for the upcoming week.
