🚗💜 SHE’S HOME, BABY! 💜🚗

And tonight, our Variety Bash car is finally home!

What a journey it’s been, and we honestly can’t thank everyone enough for helping us get to this point.

Huge shout out to Loydie, Ratso Rosco and Jonno ! They are champions.

After weeks of wondering if we’d make it, the magic has happened and she’s running like a dream .

✅ New motor purring like a kitten
✅ New starter motor
✅ New rear springs
✅ New extractors
✅ New rear brakes
✅ An air horn - toot toot

Mechanical work — DONE! 🎉

A huge thank you to everyone who has lent a hand, shared their knowledge, sourced parts, turned spanners, and kept our spirits up along the way.

Also a huge thanks to the three legends that offered us the use of their bash cars if we couldn’t get her fixed .

We owe you all a beer or three . We can’t express how grateful we are .

Car 518 is back home and ready for the next chapter. We’ve still got plenty to do before the bash , but tonight we’re celebrating a massive milestone.

Groovy baby, the countdown is officially on for the function of the year ✌️

🍹 Mimosa on arrival – served on trays by our fabulous team (1 drink per person).

🍽 Alternate drop menu:

• Thyme roasted chicken breast, roast potato, broccolini, chestnut sauce GF

• Roast sirloin beef, mashed cream potato, roast carrot, pumpkin, red wine jus GF

🍰 Shared dessert platters on each table.

🍷 A cash bar will be available in our function room, just like previous years.

🥗 Dietary requirements will be catered for separately.

🎟 Raffles – cash on the day or transfer directly into our fundraising. Pre-purchase is available for those who don’t want to queue on the day. QR code will also be on each table.

🍻 I’ve also booked a table downstairs for 15 people after the function for anyone who’d like to join us for a drink (or three!) as we celebrate the end of this year’s fundraising events for the Bash.

If you haven’t told me about a dietary requirement, I’ll assume you’re all good. 👍

🚗☮️ GROOVY NEWS, BABY! ☮️🚗

For those playing along at home…

After all the oil leaks, engine dramas, and a few moments of panic, ( ok a lot) we’ve just received an update from Rosco.

The car has been out on a decent test drive and…

🎉 No oil leak! 🎉 ratso and Rosco have weaved their magic .

Plus the brakes have been done.

The new rear springs go in this week. 💪🏼

It’s been a rollercoaster, but thanks to some incredibly talented friends working their magic behind the scenes, we’re getting closer every day.

The countdown is on, baby!

Now let’s keep raising money for the amazing kids supported by Variety and get this shagadelic machine ready for the road.

Our fundraiser is two weeks away and we are gearing up for a wonderful day .

Hopefully the next update is she’s passed scrutinering !

🎉 2026 Variety Bash School Stops Confirmed! 🎉

We're excited to be visiting at least 14 schools during the 2026 Variety Bash!

As Car 518 rolls into these communities, we'd love your help to bring smiles to the kids. We are now collecting donations of school goodies, toys, books, sports equipment, stationery, lollies and other fun items to hand out along the way. We can load these for free on the luggage truck this year!

Every donation helps make our school visits extra special and shows these amazing country kids that people care.

With just over 9 weeks until we hit the road, the excitement is building! If you'd like to donate items or support our fundraising efforts for Variety – the Children's Charity, please get in touch.

WE DID IT!

Austin Powers Car 518 has officially hit the minimum fundraising target of $8,500 to take part in the 2026 Variety Bash! 🚗💨

A massive THANK YOU to every single person, business, sponsor, friend, family member and supporter who has donated, attended events, bought raffle tickets and money board numbers , shared our posts and cheered us on along the way.

Because of your generosity, we're helping Variety the Children's Charity continue supporting Aussie kids who are sick, disadvantaged or living with disability so they can live, learn and laugh.

But we're not stopping there...

⏰ We still have 8 weeks to go before Bash starts, and every extra dollar raised means more support for kids and families who need it most.
