We're expanding our Street Outreach team on the Gold Coast and we need your help!

Every Wednesday night, our Street Outreach team shows up with hot coffee, snacks, a listening ear, and genuine conversation, creating a safe and non-judgmental space where people are reminded of a simple message: you matter, and we're here for you.

For many people doing it tough on the Gold Coast, we know that connection can make all the difference.

As we expand our outreach with an additional Thursday night service, we're looking for compassionate volunteers who want to show up and make a real difference in the lives of others.

You don't need to have all the answers. Just 4 hours a fortnight & we provide training and support.

What matters most is your willingness to listen, connect and show up for others when they need it most.

Apply via SEEK Volunteer: - https://bit.ly/VOLUNTEER-DRUGARM-SOSGC
or send through an email enquiry: - [email protected]

Know someone who would be a great fit? Please share this post and help us find the next volunteers who will show up for more people across the Gold Coast.

Congratulations, Aunty Dawn!

Drug ARM would like to congratulate our friend Aunty Dawn Dennison, a highly respected Elder from the Boggabilla community, on receiving the Aboriginal Female Elder of the Year Award at the Moree Reconciliation Week Awards 2026.

Aunty Dawn makes an invaluable contribution to the local community and has been an important part of Drug ARM's programs delivered through the Winangalabaa ‘Place of Knowledge’ Centre in Boggabilla. We were honoured to have Aunty Dawn offer a prayer and officially dedicate the centre for community use in 2024, following its purchase by our Foundation from Council to help secure the long-term future of these programs.

Her leadership inspires and strengthens those around her. Congratulations on this well deserved recognition Aunty Dawn.

Celebrating NAIDOC Week in Boggabilla 🖤💛❤️

This week, our Boggabilla team came together with community members to celebrate NAIDOC Week over an Elders Lunch with our dear friends at Stand Up Jewish Mob.

A special highlight was celebrating an incredible 21 years of friendship with the Stand Up Jewish Mob team.

We are incredibly proud of our Boggabilla team and the strong relationships they continue to nurture within the community.

These photos capture the community spirit of the day as everyone came together to celebrate NAIDOC Week, honour Elders past and present, and celebrate the culture, wisdom and relationships that continue to strengthen the Boggabilla community.

🖤💛❤️ NAIDOC Week 2026 ❤️💛🖤

This year's theme, 50 Years of Deadly, celebrates five decades of recognising the generations of Elders, leaders, organisers, artists and communities who have kept the NAIDOC movement strong.

Throughout the week, Drug ARM staff will be joining in local NAIDOC celebrations and events, connecting with community and celebrating alongside the many people and organisations who make these events possible.

With hundreds of events happening around the country, NAIDOC Week is a chance to learn more about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures and achievements, and connect with community.

Missed July 1? You are not too late.

Four days into July, many people are taking part in Dry July. But you don't need to start on July 1 to benefit from a reset.

Whether it's one day, one week, or the rest of the month, taking a break can be an opportunity to notice:

💭 How often do I drink?
💭 Why do I reach for a drink?
💭 What changes when I don't?

No pressure. No judgement. Just curiosity.

If you've been thinking about pressing pause, today is as good a day as any.

Whatever stage you are at, our Intake Team can help you explore your options. Just give them a ring on 07 3620 8880 (Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm).

We are reaching out to anyone working with families and young people who might be doing it a bit tough at the moment and could really use a free day out these school holidays.

Thanks to the support of some very generous sponsors, Drug ARM is hosting a series of Children’s Movie Days across Queensland, and we have free tickets available for families and children who could benefit from a fun, relaxed day at the movies.

We’ll be screening Toy Story 5 this Sunday 28th June in:
📍 Cairns
📍 Brisbane
📍 Bundaberg
📍 Loganholme
📍 Maroochydore
📍 Rockhampton
📍 Townsville

If you’re part of a charity, community organisation, or service provider supporting children, young people or families, I’d love to try and help connect you with tickets for the people you’re working with.

There is no cost to attend – attendees just need to be referred by a community organisation.

Feel free to send us a direct message, send an email to [email protected] or drop a comment below and someone will be in touch.
