Deaf Connect 👋Australia's largest Deaf-led organisation and leading service provider for the Deaf community. RTO 41192

We stand with the Deaf community, building capacity and influencing social change. We are an NDIS registered service provider, interpreting agency, a nationally recognised provider of in-home care for seniors, and a registered training organisation (RTO 41192) for accredited training in Auslan. Deaf Connect seeks to create a positive, respectful, inclusive and supportive environment for all who interact with us online. We anticipate everyone will be kind, courteous and respectful of others. Deaf Connect is coming to Burnie for the evening on Wednesday 21 October 2026. Come by and say hello to our Community Engagement Coordinator, Gareth Kelaart.

This is a free, open session with catering provided at Communion Brewing Co., 57 Wilmot Street, Burnie. Come by anytime between 5pm - 8pm to meet our team, ask questions, get one-on-one support, or simply connect with us in a welcoming, Deaf-led space.

Gallaudet University Immersion Program Update

Our two participants, Olivia and Tan, are off to the United States for their three-week program in Washington, DC. Have a look at their travel vlog as they get ready to go and arrive in the United States.

The Deaf Seniors Research Report summary is now live on our website.

193 Deaf seniors, family members, CODAs and aged care providers shared their experiences with us. Every story helped us understand what Deaf seniors need from aged care in Australia.

The report looks at:
- Life for Deaf seniors in aged care
- The barriers and challenges they face
- Ways aged care can better support Auslan, Deaf culture and connection
