⏰ Open from 10am to 3pm.

💵 Tickets? From individual rides starting at just $5 to an 11-ride pack for $50 and an all-day pass at $40.

All tickets are purchased on site during our Open Day.

We’re proud to celebrate our partnership with the Hobsons Bay Community Fund, supporting a project that strengthens both our railway and our volunteer community.

Thanks to this grant, we introduced a new “Conrail blue” caboose designed with improved safety and accessibility for our volunteers.

This National Volunteers Week, we want to say a heartfelt thank you to the incredible volunteers who keep Altona Miniature Railway running.

Your time, skills, energy, and passion make so much possible — from maintaining the railway and caring for the equipment, to welcoming families, running trains, and helping create a safe and enjoyable experience for our community.

We are proud to be a 100% volunteer-run railway, and we are deeply grateful for the dedication and teamwork that help preserve this much-loved local attraction and bring joy to so many people.

Perfect afternoon to test a new wagon before next month’s Open Day, Sunday 17 May.
Amy, one of our volunteers, takes their new “Ozride” bulkhead flat out for its first run. The distinctive pink, white and grey livery was used for a staff training video back in 1985, and now lives on as a ride-on train.

We’re open tomorrow from 10am for miniature train rides at Altona Miniature Railway! Come along for a fun day out with the family and enjoy a ride on our miniature trains.

One of our members trains is back in action and ready to haul passengers!

Looks like a perfect Sunday 20 degree day! Just a reminder that the Ross Rd car park is currently closed and there maybe congestion around the local roads.
