Have you spotted these vibrant new public artworks by artist Louise Flaherty in Bowden? 🪴🌻🌿🌸

Guildhouse Professional Services has worked closely with the City Of Charles Sturt to deliver site-specific public art projects that activate new green spaces within the neighbourhood.

In the Drayton Street pocket park Louise Flaherty, supported by Laura Wills, celebrates the people who care for local green spaces across a series of nine planter boxes.

Recognising the volunteers whose ongoing efforts help shape and sustain the landscapes of Brompton, Bowden and Ovingham, the artwork acknowledges the collective care, environmental stewardship and sense of community that underpin these shared places.

Developed through engagement with local greening groups, the project reflects Flaherty’s longstanding interest in community engaged practice and endemic plant conservation.

Guildhouse is proud to share a new video commemorating the creation of renowned South Australian artist Robert Hannaford AM’s statue of Dr Lowitja O’Donoghue AC CBE DSG.

Hear firsthand from artist Robert Hannaford, bronze caster Tim Thomson, artist Mahailia Levinson, and actor Aaron Pedersen (who provided audio narration to accompany the statue), about the processes involved in creating this landmark work of art and the lasting legacy of Dr O’Donoghue’s trailblazing achievements.

We thank the O’Donoghue family and the Lowitja O’Donoghue Foundation Lowitja Institute for their guidance during the delivery of this project.

This sculpture of Dr Lowitja O’Donoghue AC CBE DSG is the first of six new statues and monuments in Adelaide to honour Aboriginal leaders and celebrate First Nations history. The sculptures are commissioned by the South Australian Government in partnership with the City of Adelaide and curated and project managed by Guildhouse.

This event brings together Amber Cronin (Arts and Culture Curator, Nature Festival), André Zufferey (Director + Curator, FutureJuice), and Truc Truong (Smoking Fish Studio) - three creatives whose work spans festivals, independent studios, and everything in between.

Let's Meet Guildhouse Accredited Member Luca Lettieri! ⛓

Luca is a multidisciplinary Australian artist based on Peramangk Country (Strathalbyn, South Australia). Working across sculpture, painting and design, his practice explores the intersection of art, craftsmanship and material experimentation, drawing on Southern Italian folk traditions, architecture and industrial processes.

💭 "My practice draws strongly from the traditions of Southern Italian folk art, where everyday objects, architecture and handcrafted artefacts carry stories of place, ritual and identity. I’m interested in the ingenuity of vernacular making – objects created with limited means but deep material knowledge – and how these traditions balance utility with beauty."
