Adelaide University Solar Racing Team - AUSRT Adelaide University Solar Racing is a student-led team that designs and builds solar powered vehicles for the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge

The Adelaide University Solar Racing Team (AUSRT) is a group of final year engineering students who devote their year to technically developing or improving the university solar racing car named Lumen. The team competes in the biennial Bridgestone World Solar Challenge (BWSC), a global event where teams from across the globe race in a 3000 km journey from Darwin to Adelaide on nothing but solar power. This day a year ago, AU Solar Racing set off down the Stuart Highway for our 5th Bridgestone World Solar Challenge! ☀️

The BWSC is more than just a race, it's the world's greatest engineering challenge and an opportunity to drive technological innovation.

With pure grit, determination, and dedication, the team designed, built, and raced an entirely new car, Lumen III!

Although Lumen III didn't quite make her way back home how we had planned, the community and insight gained from the 2025 race made it all worth it.

The team learned so much from the valuable experience of this race, which in turn has enabled us to become smarter and stronger innovators for 2027!
