πŸ† Congratulations to Jenny Peel, ECH Employee of the Year.

Jenny consistently demonstrates what it means to make a meaningful difference in people's lives.

One family shared how Jenny helped transform the lives of their parents, both living with dementia, after they returned to South Australia feeling uncertain and disconnected from their community. Jenny took the time to listen, build trust and understand what mattered to them.

What followed was more than connecting them with services. It was helping them reconnect with life itself.

Today they are attending social outings, going to the footy, enjoying bus trips, meeting friends and embracing opportunities they once thought were no longer possible.

Jenny's compassion, belief in people and commitment to helping older South Australians live well embody everything ECH stands for.

Congratulations, Jenny, and thank you for the extraordinary difference you make every day. πŸ’™

πŸ’œ Today we're celebrating Wear It Purple Day.

This year's theme, Colours of Courage, recognises the many ways LGBTI+ people, allies and communities show courage every day, whether it's living authentically, supporting others, speaking up, or helping create more inclusive environments where everyone feels they belong.

At ECH, inclusion is more than a commitment. It's part of who we are.

As South Australia's first Rainbow Tick-accredited aged care provider, we are proud to support older people, clients, residents and employees from diverse backgrounds and lived experiences. We continue to build safe, welcoming and inclusive environments where people can be themselves and feel respected, valued and connected.

Today, we're wearing purple to show our support for the LGBTI+ community and to celebrate the diversity that makes our communities stronger.

Solomon's story of finding his true calling.

Solomon has lived several lives: journalist, bank manager, and now, a Home Service Team Member at ECH bringing warmth and joy into the daily lives of older South Australians.

His path here began unexpectedly, caring for his own father in Nigeria, and volunteering at his father's care home in the months that followed. That quiet act of service planted something that never left him.

After moving to Australia, Solomon left banking behind for good, completed his Certificate III in Individual Support, and found a home at ECH.

"I like to see my clients smile. I feel fulfilled when I return home knowing I have been able to put a smile on their faces."

Known among his team for his humour, love of dance and his dedication, Solomon treats every visit, whether it's a morning routine or a drive to an appointment as a chance to bring a little more light into someone's day.

"You have to be genuinely interested in helping people. If you have that, the empathy and the love for the work will come naturally."

This is what it means to Be MORE at ECH.

πŸ’™ Learning, laughter and plenty of great conversation.

Our first week back for Term 3 at Cumby was a success, thanks to an engaging Healthy Ageing presentation delivered by ECH nurse Sam.

The positive feedback from attendees was overwhelming, with many commenting on how informative, interactive and enjoyable the session was. The presentation generated plenty of interest and discussion, and participants have already started suggesting topics for future sessions.

A big thank you to Sam for sharing his knowledge and passion for helping older South Australians live well.

πŸ‘‰Join the Cumby fun! Wednesdays 9:30am-12:30pm at the Cumberland Park Community Centre, 388-390 Goodwood Road.

A wonderful community initiative in partnership with the City of Mitcham.

430+ team members. One incredible night. ✨

On Aged Care Employee Day, our Employee Dinner brought ECH people together to celebrate, connect and recognise the amazing contributions made across our organisation every day.

The energy in the room, the laughter, the conversations and the applause for our award winners made it a night to remember.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the evening such a success. πŸ’™

Can a 10-minute phone call change someone's life? Maddie would say yes.

For many older South Australians, a call from Maddie is more than just a check-in, it's a lifeline. As a Customer Support Advisor at ECH, Maddie connects clients with allied health services like physiotherapy, podiatry and even garden therapy, helping them stay safe, confident and independent at home.

After a decade in hospitality, Maddie was looking for work with more meaning. She found it at ECH, first as a Scheduler, and now coordinating care that genuinely changes people's days.

"Some of these clients don't have any family members nearby and just have us on the end of the phone. They're so grateful for our help. I really enjoy what I do - it's fulfilling to help clients achieve their goals."

Along the way, Maddie has discovered a side of herself she didn't expect. More confident, more connected, and part of a team that always has her back.

"I actually used to be terrified about calling clients. But now, it's no problem at all. I'm a lot more confident in my voice and myself."

This is what it means to Be MORE at ECH.
