Every visit to David Austin Roses always provides additional interest. Extensions to the rose selection area have been completed.
What was new is the opening to the public of David’s private garden. One finds an informal country garden with arch walkways, rill garden (water feature), hornbeam hedges, wildflower meadow and Mrs Pat Austin’s sculptures throughout the garden. A special highlight was the specimen tree of Cornus kousa chinensis (Chinese Dogwood).

If you missed out on Knight's Roses Open Day today, Saturday June 20, you missed pruning demonstrations, a HUGE selection of roses, advice from Society rosarians, advice from FELCO reps and complimentary food and hot drinks. Don't despair, there's another on Saturday 1st August from 10am to 2pm. The Society will also hold a pruning demonstration on June 28 from 12.30 to 3pm in the International Rose Garden at Adelaide Botanic Garden.

See you today at Knight's Roses Open Day as members of The Rose Society will be demonstrating how to prune roses from climbers to standards.
Instructions and free advice from Rose Society of SA experienced Rose Pruners on pruning roses and how to get the best flowering from them is available at the pruning demonstrations. You will be shown how to prune standards, bush, shrub and climbing roses.
Also Felco reps will be there so bring your Felco products along for a tune up!

This Saturday at Knights Roses Open Day members of The Rose Society will be demonstrating how to prune roses from climbers to standards.
Instructions and free advice from Rose Society of SA experienced Rose Pruners on pruning roses and how to get the best flowering from them is available at the pruning demonstrations. You will be shown how to prune standards, bush, shrub and climbing roses.

Ray and Pauline Martin were presented with the well deserved Dean Hole Medal at Rochester Cathedral by the current Dean, Phillip Hesketh on Saturday. This concluded a day of activities in and around the cathedral, the former home of Dean Samuel Reynolds Hole (1887 - 1904). Dean Hesketh provided a guided tour of the cathedral and the extensive garden. Head Gardener, Graham Huckstepp gave insight on the current garden and future plans. The day included the christening of a new Chris Warner rose, “ Always In My Heart” and checking out the Dean Hole memorabilia held by the cathedral.
Late afternoon, participants travelled to Sissinghurst Castle for an after hours tour of the garden.
