FAWUZ President and General Secretary Attend General Assembly in Nairobi, Kenya.

There cannot be football without the footballer, were candid words of Keyan football federation president Hussein Mohammed.

And FIFPRO Africa General Assembly opened in Nairobi, Kenya on Thursday, drawing together 28 National Unions and footballers representative associations.
Making his statement as the official guest at the opening, Mohammed acknowledged the importance of players welfare in football through strong and effective representation. He said football was strongest when all voices are heard and all challenges resolved.
"Without the footballer, there's no football. Everything else resolves around the player," said Muhammed.
He noted the need for players unions to delve into the issues of player insurance during the players' current and post career, taking into consideration injuries, health and medicals including pension for players.
And FIFPRO AFRICA President Geremie Njitap hailed the achievements of FIFPRO through the players unions on the continent.
"Players have a strong collective voice in matters affecting their careers," he said.
He cited the greatest strength of the unions as unity and implored the players representatives to remain committed to fighting for players dignity and rights everyday.
Zambia's voice at the Fifpro Africa General Assembly is through Footballers and Allied Workers Union of Zambia (FAWUZ) President Sandras Kumwenda and General Secretary Joe Kaunda.
FAWUZ shared its achievements and prospects for the Zambian player and all members of the football fraternity in the country.
FAWUZ pledged its dedication to the player welfare and conditions of service as its core mandate.
