📢 Government Stakeholders Review CJC II Workplan in Sinazongwe District.

On 5th June 2026, Green Living Movement (GLM) engaged government stakeholders in Sinazongwe District to review the Climate Justice Grant Zambia (CJC II) Workplan.

Stakeholders reviewed the planned activities and provided valuable comments and recommendations to strengthen project implementation. Discussions also focused on coordination mechanisms among government departments and project stakeholders to enhance collaboration and impact.

Government departments acknowledged the positive contributions the project has made in communities and reaffirmed their commitment to supporting its successful implementation and sustainability.

The engagement highlighted the importance of partnerships in promoting climate justice and sustainable development in the District.

COMACO Engaged as an Off-Taker of Honey under the CJC II Project in Luangwa District.

Green Living Movement has successfully engaged Community markets for conservation (COMACO) as an off taker for honey produced by community members under the Environmental Management Intervention of the CJC II Project in Luangwa District.

In addition to providing a ready market for the honey, COMACO has supported producers with honey harvesting and storage buckets, helping improve product quality, reduce post-harvest losses, and strengthen the capacity of local beekeepers.

This partnership marks a significant step towards strengthening sustainable natural resource management while creating economic opportunities for local communities. By providing a reliable market for honey producers, the initiative is helping households generate income, improve livelihoods, and reduce pressure on forest resources.

The engagement also reinforces the project's commitment to promoting forest conservation through nature-based enterprises that incentivize communities to protect and sustainably manage their environment.

Through strategic market linkages such as this, the CJC II Project continues to empower producer groups, enhance value chains, and contribute to resilient and sustainable community development.

Community GEDSI / GALS Facilitators Coached in Luangwa District under the CJC II Project.

Green Living Movement (GLM), in partnership with Disability Rights Watch - DRW and NIRAS Zambia, conducted a refresher training and coaching session for Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion/Gender Action Learning System facilitators under the Climate Justice Grant Zambia (CJC II) Project in Luangwa District.

The training strengthened facilitators’ capacity to integrate gender equality, disability, and social inclusion (GEDSI) across climate justice programming, with a strong focus on meaningful participation of women, youth, older persons, and persons with disabilities.

By combining technical training with coaching, the initiative moves beyond knowledge to transformative practice, equipping facilitators to address barriers to inclusion and strengthen accountability in programme implementation.

This intervention highlights the importance of continued partnership in advancing inclusive, community-driven climate resilience.

Scaling Climate Resilience: 77 Households Empowered in Gwembe District.

Through the Climate Resilience Community Project, supported by the Glasco Foundation (Canada), Green Living Movement (GLM) is delivering tangible impact by empowering 77 households across Fumbo, Lukonde, Makuyu, and Jongola wards in Gwembe District.

A total of 147 goats were distributed to 47 households, while 90 chickens were provided to 30 householdsdirectly improving household incomes, strengthening nutrition, and creating sustainable livelihood opportunities for climate-affected communities.

In an area facing prolonged dry spells and erratic rainfall, this intervention is supporting vulnerable families to adapt through practical, climate-resilient solutions such as livestock rearing, while laying a foundation for long-term resilience and food security.

This initiative reflects the power of strategic partnerships and continued investment in community-led approaches that drive both immediate impact and sustainable development outcomes.

𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗠𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶-𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁.

We have successfully hosted the first National Food Systems Transformation Dialogue in Mumbwa District under the theme: “𝘉𝘶𝘪𝘭𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘏𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘵𝘩𝘺, 𝘌𝘤𝘰-𝘍𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘭𝘺 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘙𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘍𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘚𝘺𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘮𝘴.”

The two-day engagement brought together Civil Society Organisations, government departments, traditional leaders, the media, and community representatives to share knowledge and strengthen collaboration towards sustainable and resilient food systems.

Participants explored practical agroecology initiatives through a field visit and engaged in strategic discussions on sustainable agriculture, climate resilience, and food security. The dialogue highlighted the importance of continued investment in community-led solutions that promote environmental stewardship and resilient livelihoods.
