𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐅𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐫-𝐋𝐞𝐝 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠
On 11th September 2026, the Climate Justice Grant Zambia project held a Farmer-to-Farmer Learning Field Day in Sinazongwe District (Mweezya, Chiyabi, Mabinga and Tekelo wards), giving farmers the chance to see practical, community-based examples of all-year-round production and food preservation from their peers.

This peer-learning approach reduces adoption barriers, as farmers see proof that these practices are achievable within their own communities.

The activity contributes directly to improved food security, increased household income, reduced food losses, and stronger community resilience to climate change.

Green Living Movement remains committed to scaling locally-led, sustainable agricultural solutions.

𝗖𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗢𝗳 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗟𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗰𝗸 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗜𝗻 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘇𝗼𝗻𝗴𝘄𝗲 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘁.

Today's Training of Trainers (ToT) session is in full swing in Sinazongwe District under the 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗝𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗜𝗜 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁. The training is targeting 𝟰𝟬 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗟𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗰𝗸 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 across four wards — 𝗠𝘄𝗲𝗲𝘇𝘆𝗮, 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝘆𝗮𝗯𝗶, 𝗠𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗮, and 𝗧𝗲𝗸𝗲𝗹𝗼.

Facilitators are getting hands-on practice in
Goat & chicken health management, diseases identification and prevention, vaccination, deworming & parasite control and food formulation using locally available resources.

Trainers are learning by doing, guided throughout by the project 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 and the 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘁 𝗩𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗿𝘆 personnel, who are on hand as project partners providing technical guidance every step of the way.

The goal is to equip these community facilitators with practical skills to strengthen farmers' capacity, build healthier herds, and drive climate-resilient livestock production.

Yesterday, our 𝗖𝗝𝗖 𝗜𝗜 𝗙𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗱 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 engaged with beneficiaries at the 𝗡𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗼𝗹𝗮 𝗜𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗲 in Chiyabi, 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘇𝗼𝗻𝗴𝘄𝗲 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘁!

The interaction created a 𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗺 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺 for beneficiaries to share the challenges they face in implementing project activities.

The team addressed key concerns around 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆, reminding beneficiaries that strong, united communities are the foundation of lasting development.

As training of 500 targeted farmers in organic farming continues with support from Organic Farm 7 " Radical Farmer" , farmers in Luangwa are speaking out about how the training is strengthening their adoption of organic practices from improving soil fertility to reducing reliance on chemical inputs and boosting productivity.

Bertha, an irrigation beneficiary already practising organic farming, shares how she uses gliricidia, other medicinal trees, and animal manure to restore soil fertility and manage pests using locally available resources.

500 farmers in Mwalilia, Luangwa District are currently undergoing training in 𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗰 𝗳𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴, facilitated by Organic Farm 7 "The Radical Farmer" under the 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗝𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗭𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗶𝗮 (𝗖𝗝𝗖 𝗜𝗜) 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁!

This training is equipping farmers with 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲, 𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹-𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲 farming practices to boost food security and protect our environment.
