Kitwe 📍
Young minds, open hearts!

This week, our team visited Mindolo Community in Kitwe for an awareness talk with school pupils on the dangers of human trafficking and the excitement in that room was everything.

Seeing young people lean in, ask questions and engage so passionately with these issues reminds us exactly why we do this work. An informed young person is a protected young person.

Heavenly Father,

As we celebrate the Ascension of Your Son, Jesus Christ, remind us that we are called to be His witnesses in the world.

Just as He commissioned His disciples to carry the Good News to all nations, send us forth with courage, compassion and hope.

Help us to recognize the dignity of every person we meet, especially those who are vulnerable, displaced, exploited or forgotten.

May we be instruments of Your justice and peace, standing alongside those affected by human trafficking, migration and all forms of oppression.

Through Christ our Lord.
Amen.

A landmark moment for our mission.

On Monday, May 25, His Holiness Pope Leo XIV published his first encyclical letter, Magnifica Humanitas - "On Safeguarding the Human Person in the Time of Artificial Intelligence" and within its pages, he dedicated a powerful section to the issue of human trafficking and exploitation.

Read Magnifica Humanitas (AAS 173–179) for the section on human trafficking and exploitation.

This one still gives us chills. ✨

To the night we received the Community Impact Award at the Diamond TV POTYAS, every single second of it belonged to the survivors and victims of human trafficking we have the honor of serving.

Their stories shape us. Their resilience drives us. They are the reason we show up every single day.
This award is yours.

From May 4 to 9, the Talitha K*m Regional Representatives gathered in Rome for the Talitha K*m International Coordination Committee (TKICC) Annual Meeting.

Once a year, the members of the TKICC meet in Rome: the Talitha K*m International Coordinator together with the Representatives from Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America & the Caribbean, North America and Oceania. This is an opportunity to connect, discern, and plan the journey of the network of networks towards 2030.

This year’s theme was: “Deepening Communion, Shaping Action – Walking Together as a Network to End Human Trafficking.”

TAKUZA at the Don Bosco Fest! 💛

We had the incredible privilege of speaking to 300 young people at the Don Bosco Fest and we started right at the foundation talking about mental and emotional well-being.

When young adults understand their own emotional and psychological health, they are better equipped to recognize manipulation, resist exploitation and make safe, informed choices for themselves and for those around them.

Hotels see thousands of faces every day and that's exactly why hotel staff are on the frontlines of the fight against human trafficking. Last month, we partnered with Mika Hotels to hold two sessions with their team, sharing real cases and practical tools to keep both staff and guests safe.

Together, we can end human trafficking.

Meet Malama, one of our incredible youth volunteers changing the narrative on human trafficking and safe migration, one conversation at a time.

Going out into communities, speaking face-to-face with people and planting seeds of awareness isn't always easy but Malama like all our youth volunteers does it with heart, courage and purpose.

This is what youth-led change looks like. This is why we do what we do.If her story moves you, share this video and help us spread the message further.
Together, we can build safer communities for everyone. 🌍

WEEKS PRAYER

God of justice and compassion,
In today’s Word, You remind us to remain in Your love and to live as faithful witnesses of hope.

As we begin this new week, strengthen all who work to protect human dignity, defend the vulnerable and stand against human trafficking and exploitation.

Fill our hearts with courage to speak for those whose voices are silenced, wisdom to act with justice and compassion to serve with love.

Amen.
