We are a faith-based national network committed to ending human trafficking in Zambia. As part of the global Talitha Kum International network, TAKUZA empowers survivors, engages in education and advocacy, and addresses the root causes of exploitation. Rooted in Catholic social teaching, we work to restore dignity and freedom to every person. Through collaboration, prayer, and unwavering commitmen

As part of our ongoing efforts to raise awareness on human trafficking and promote safe migration, our Ndola Team branch held an engaging radio programme, while our Mpika Team took the conversation directly to the community.

Through these activities, we continue to raise awareness, share information and encourage communities to play their part in preventing human trafficking.

Loving God,

as we begin this week, strengthen us to be instruments of hope, freedom and protection. Give us the courage to stand with the vulnerable, speak up against injustice and walk alongside those seeking safety and a better future.

Guide our work and our journey, so that every person may be treated with dignity, welcomed with compassion and protected from exploitation.

The commemoration has begun!

Over the weekend, the TAKUZA diocesan Ndola Team is taking the message into the heart of the community as we kick off the 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐀𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐬 awareness campaign.

This year's theme, "Trapped Behind the Scam," reminds us that not everyone behind an online scam is there by choice. Many victims are deceived, trafficked and forced by organized criminal networks to carry out cyber-enabled fraud.

Not everyone behind an online scam is there by choice.

This year's World Day Against Trafficking in Persons shines a light on victims who have been trafficked into scam operations and forced by organised criminal networks to carry out cyber-enabled fraud. Behind the screen may be someone who has been deceived, exploited, threatened and stripped of their freedom.

In the lead-up to the 30 𝙅𝙪𝙡𝙮 𝙒𝙤𝙧𝙡𝙙 𝘿𝙖𝙮 𝘼𝙜𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙨𝙩 𝙏𝙧𝙖𝙛𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙞𝙣 𝙋𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙤𝙣𝙨, we had the privilege of hosting women religious from 12 Africa countries at the Kasisi Retreat Centre in Lusaka, organized by the 𝙄𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙣𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝙐𝙣𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙤𝙛 𝙎𝙪𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙤𝙧𝙨 𝙂𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙡 (𝙐𝙄𝙎𝙂) 𝙄𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙣𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝙈𝙞𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙍𝙚𝙛𝙪𝙜𝙚𝙚𝙨 𝙉𝙚𝙩𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙠, the gathering brought together women religious committed to accompanying people on the move and strengthening the Church’s response to migration and displacement.

With this year’s theme, “𝙏𝙧𝙖𝙛𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙞𝙣 𝙋𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙤𝙣𝙨: 𝙏𝙧𝙖𝙥𝙥𝙚𝙙 𝘽𝙚𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙎𝙘𝙖𝙢,” we reflect on the urgent need for collective action to raise awareness, prevent exploitation and protect those at risk of trafficking.
