Youth Alliance Zambia Calls for Accelerated Action on HIV/AIDS on World AIDS Day 2025
1st December, 2025
Lusaka, Zambia – Youth Alliance Zambia, a leading youth-led organization in the fight against HIV/AIDS, today released a statement commemorating World AIDS Day 2025. The organization is calling on stakeholders to take urgent action to address the disruptions facing the global AIDS response and transform the fight against HIV/AIDS.
The theme for World AIDS Day 2025, "Overcoming Disruption, Transforming the AIDS Response," highlights the need for innovative solutions to address the challenges posed by funding cuts, shifting priorities, and persistent stigma and discrimination.
"As young people, we are committed to playing our part in the fight against HIV/AIDS," said Mr. Samson Mwale, ACAO, EXCO, Youth Alliance Zambia. "However, we need the support of government, partners, and communities to ensure that everyone has access to HIV prevention, treatment, and care services."
Youth Alliance Zambia is calling on stakeholders to prioritize human rights, equality, and access to healthcare for all, particularly vulnerable populations such as young people, women, and girls. The organization is also urging increased investment in community-led initiatives and youth-friendly services to ensure no one is left behind.
