Youth Alliance Zambia Secretary General Samson Mwale writes....

Tomorrow is an important day for me, and even more importantly, for the many well-meaning youths across our country. As we commemorate National Youth Day, I will be on Capital FM Zambia discussing Youth Participation in Zambia’s Democratic Processes.

This conversation comes at a time when the voice, energy, and ideas of young people are crucial to shaping the future of our nation. Youth participation is not just a privilege—it is a responsibility.

I invite fellow young people to tune in and be part of the conversation as we reflect on the role we must play in strengthening our democracy and building a better Zambia for generations to come. 🇿🇲✊🏾

Youth Alliance Zambia Calls for Accelerated Action on HIV/AIDS on World AIDS Day 2025

1st December, 2025

Lusaka, Zambia – Youth Alliance Zambia, a leading youth-led organization in the fight against HIV/AIDS, today released a statement commemorating World AIDS Day 2025. The organization is calling on stakeholders to take urgent action to address the disruptions facing the global AIDS response and transform the fight against HIV/AIDS.

The theme for World AIDS Day 2025, "Overcoming Disruption, Transforming the AIDS Response," highlights the need for innovative solutions to address the challenges posed by funding cuts, shifting priorities, and persistent stigma and discrimination.

"As young people, we are committed to playing our part in the fight against HIV/AIDS," said Mr. Samson Mwale, ACAO, EXCO, Youth Alliance Zambia. "However, we need the support of government, partners, and communities to ensure that everyone has access to HIV prevention, treatment, and care services."

Youth Alliance Zambia is calling on stakeholders to prioritize human rights, equality, and access to healthcare for all, particularly vulnerable populations such as young people, women, and girls. The organization is also urging increased investment in community-led initiatives and youth-friendly services to ensure no one is left behind.

The Zambia 2025 HIV Prevention Symposium, which concluded today, was a valuable milestone for Youth Alliance Zambia. Working with over 5,000 young people, we were reminded of the urgent need to strengthen efforts to end HIV in Zambia.

We appreciate the commitment of the U.S. Embassy Zambia, UNFPA, UN Youth Affairs, The Commonwealth, United Nations and the Ministry of Health Zambia for their leadership in HIV prevention.

Key priorities include expanding access to condoms for dual protection and addressing stigma, which continues to hinder young people from seeking help.

We will continue sharing these messages with our 5,000 members as we support the national fight to .

PRESS STATEMENT FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

25th November, 2025

As we begin the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, the Youth Alliance Zambia joins the global community in recognizing the urgent need to address digital violence against women and girls. The theme for this year, "UNiTE to end digital violence against all women and girls," resonates deeply with us.

Digital technologies have transformed the way we live, work, and interact. However, they have also created new avenues for violence and abuse. Online harassment, cyberbullying, and technology-facilitated abuse are just a few examples of the devastating impact of digital violence on women and girls.

At Youth Alliance Zambia, we believe that every woman and girl deserves to live a life free from violence and fear. We recognize that digital violence is a serious issue that requires a collective response. That's why we're committed to promoting online safety and respect for women's and girls' rights.

Over the next 16 days, we'll be undertaking various activities to raise awareness about digital violence and promote a culture of respect and empathy online. We'll be engaging with communities, sharing stories, and advocating for policies that protect women and girls from digital harm.

We invite all stakeholders, including government, civil society, private sector, and individuals, to join us in this effort. Together, we can make a difference and create a safer, more inclusive, and equitable world for all.

We're committed to standing in solidarity with survivors of digital violence and supporting their rights and dignity.
