MSI continues its Mental Health Awareness Drive in the Buffalo City Metropolitan (BCM) District. Today, we visited Kusile High School to engage with Grade 12 learners as they write their final examinations.

The session focused on encouraging learners to prioritise their mental well-being, manage examination stress, and remember that their mental health matters just as much as their academic success.

As learners navigate this important chapter of their lives, MSI remains committed to reminding them that it is okay to take a break, ask for support, and prioritise their emotional well-being.

MSI continues to prioritise the mental well-being of learners as part of its ongoing Mental Health Awareness Sessions across the Eastern Cape.

Today, we visited the Grade 12 class at BCM Inner High School in the Buffalo City Metro (BCM) District to facilitate a stress management session as learners prepare for their final examinations.

The session focused on equipping learners with practical strategies to manage examination stress, maintain a positive mindset and approach their final exams with confidence and resilience.

At MSI, we believe that supporting learners goes beyond academic excellence. Their mental well-being is equally important in helping them reach their full potential.

The MSI Last Push Programme is underway at Zibi Meyer SSS and Khanya Naledi SSS in the Alfred Nzo District, providing focused academic support to our Grade 12 learners as they prepare for their final examinations.

Led by one of our dedicated Lead Tutors, the sessions focused on Mathematics Paper 2, covering Trigonometric Functions and Circle Geometry.

Through these targeted interventions, MSI continues to strengthen learners’ understanding, build confidence, and equip them with the skills needed to tackle their examinations with determination.

Yesterday, MSI attended a Science Festival hosted by the Albertina Nontsikelelo Sisulu Science Centre in collaboration with the Department of Science, Technology and Innovation, SAASTA, and PROTEC.

The event brought together various stakeholders and key role players in the Mathematics and Science space to showcase educational opportunities, share resources, and engage directly with learners from schools in and around Cofimvaba.

Through these meaningful engagements, learners had the opportunity to explore pathways in Mathematics and Science, discover available opportunities, and gain valuable insights into careers in STEM.

MSI remains committed to supporting initiatives that inspire learners, broaden their horizons, and empower them to make informed decisions about their academic journeys and future careers.

🌟 LEAD TUTOR WEDNESDAY | Celebrating Ms Anelisa Mjanyelwa 🌟

Today, MSI proudly celebrates Ms Anelisa Mjanyelwa, a dedicated Lead Tutor whose leadership, commitment and passion for learner success continue to make a meaningful difference.

Since joining the Lead Tutor team on 8 May 2024, Ms Mjanyelwa has demonstrated exceptional commitment and strong leadership in supporting the improvement of Physical Sciences results.

At Sulenkama SSS in OR Tambo Inland, she played a key role in improving learner performance in Physical Sciences. Her dedication and ability to take on greater responsibility later saw her supporting Zwelodumo SSS, where she was entrusted with the performance of two grades, including Grade 12.

Her impact extends beyond the classroom. At Zwelivumile SSS in Chris Hani East, she successfully implemented MSI activities, contributed to improved learner performance and demonstrated her ability to adapt and deliver results across different school contexts.

What sets Ms Mjanyelwa apart is her subject expertise, initiative, accountability and willingness to share her knowledge with others. As a Lead Tutor, she is well positioned to mentor fellow tutors, support schools facing challenges and share effective strategies that can contribute to improved Physical Sciences outcomes.

Last week, MSI had the privilege of visiting the Grade 12 learners of Victor Poto S.S.S. in the OR Tambo Coastal District for a mental health awareness session.

As the learners prepare for their final examinations, the session focused on stress management, emotional well-being, and practical ways to cope with the pressure that comes with the examination season.
At MSI, we believe that supporting learners goes beyond academic preparation. A healthy mind is an important part of achieving academic success.

We encouraged the learners to stay focused, believe in themselves, manage their stress, and remember that their well-being matters.

Meet Our Lead Tutor: Akhona Boxo

MSI proudly recognises Akhona Boxo, a dedicated and experienced FET Mathematics teacher at Gengqe Senior Secondary School in the OR Tambo Inland District, for his outstanding commitment to teaching and learner success.

Having joined MSI on 8 May 2023, during the expansion of the programme to over 50 schools across OR Tambo Inland and Nelson Mandela Bay, Akhona has consistently demonstrated professionalism, reliability, commitment and excellence in his work.

His appointment as a Lead Tutor is a recognition of his extensive experience, proven performance and dedication to improving learner outcomes. As a Mathematics teacher, he has made a significant contribution to improving learner results, particularly in Grade 12, earning the continued trust and appreciation of his school management.

Akhona's strong organisational skills, accountability and ability to manage both Department of Education and MSI academic records further reflect his commitment to quality education.
