We believe that the emotional scars inflicted on dogs are as devastating as the physical, and that every dog - regardless of breed or past trauma - deserves a shot at redemption! REDEMPTION DOGS RESCUE AND REHAB NPC

Redemption Dogs Rescue and Rehab is a dedicated non-profit animal welfare organisation focused on rescuing and rehabilitating dogs across the Western Cape and beyond. Guided by a pro-life philosophy, we provide each dog with the highest standards of care, addressing both their physical and psychological needs. Beyond our rescue efforts, we engage in community outreach to educate and support pet owners, fostering a compassionate community committed to the humane treatment and holistic welfare of all animals. We believe that the emotional scars inflicted on dogs are as devastating as the physical, and that every dog—regardless of breed or past trauma—deserves a shot at redemption! Through our comprehensive approach to rescue, rehabilitation, and education, we strive to create a world where every dog is valued, cared for, and given the opportunity to lead a joyful life. Vision Statement:
At Redemption Dogs Rescue and Rehab, we envision a future where communities are united in their commitment to the humane treatment and holistic welfare of all animals, fostering empathy, understanding and kindness in every interaction. Mission Statement:
Redemption Dogs Rescue and Rehab is dedicated to transforming lives—both canine and human. We rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome dogs in need, addressing not only their physical needs but also their emotional and psychological scars. Our mission extends beyond rescue. Through comprehensive behavioural rehabilitation, we address the deep-seated traumas that affect not only the dogs but also the community. Emotional scars in dogs can manifest as behavioural issues, leading to abandonment or abuse, perpetuating a cycle of suffering and neglect. By healing these dogs, we aim to break this cycle and create a ripple effect of compassion and understanding. We believe that educating the youth and broader community about the emotionality and sentience of dogs fosters a more empathetic and caring society. By teaching the importance of addressing dogs' emotional needs alongside their physical ones, we cultivate a culture of respect and kindness that extends to human relationships as well. This holistic approach enhances the welfare of dogs and nurtures a community where people treat each other with greater compassion and respect.

She’s a Rottie mix who was very uncertain around new people. As I sat talking to her family, she came over to me and started sniffing my open palm, especially around my wrist. This is how she gathered information about me and how I gained her trust. I didn’t try and stroke her, just let her find out who I was. This was the first step in showing her that she had nothing to fear from me. Understanding her needs was important but the way I greeted her is also based in science. Kindness, even to these large dogs that people find scary, goes a long way in helping them heal.

🤍 PUPPIES 🤍 PUPPIES 🤍 PUPPIES 🤍

These seven little gems are available for adoption through The Gem Project Sanctuary.

Though their breed mix cannot be definitively determined without DNA testing, they were born at the sanctuary to a beautiful brindle pittie mix mama. And based on their size, physical and behavioural traits, as well as the male dogs known to the area their mother was rescued from, it is likely that they will grow into big, powerful boys and girls!

These pups will need stable, confident and committed homes. Strict home checks will apply.

If you’re ready to welcome a little chaos and a lot of love into your heart and home, please complete the application form today!

Hello! I'm Holly, a 2 year old Boerboel girl. And yes, I know... I do bear the breed's signature "resting concerned face". 🙈 Personally, I think it adds to my charm!

I am really a ray of sunshine who finds joy and gratitude in every moment! 😊 But I wasn't always this happy... When I was rescued, I had a heavy chain around my neck that I'd somehow managed to break free from.

I was painfully thin, my ears were so badly infected that one of them looks a little funny now (I hope that doesn't make you see me differently...). I flinched whenever people reached towards me. And yet, I could not stop loving people.

I adore affection and, if you let me, l'll almost certainly cover your face in kisses! 💋 I don't believe in holding grudges. I think life is much more fun spent loving people instead.

I get on well with other dogs too, especially well-mannered, playful medium or large friends who enjoy a good game before settling down together afterwards. I can be a bit enthusiastic when I get excited, and I'm still polishing up my own manners, but I'm learning quickly and making wonderful progress. 🤓

Whoever had me before didn't give me a life any dog deserves. I can't change that. But I can promise that whoever chooses me next will get every bit of love I've got to give. I play hard, I chill hard and I cuddle hard.
Everything. ❤️ With my whole heart and big, bootifull full-body wiggles.

If you don't mind a little old physical imperfection and can see my true beauty shine through, please send in an adoption application. I really would like to know what it feels like to finally be somebody's girl.

My name is Muse.

My owner passed away unexpectedly, and at 12 years old, I suddenly lost my home, my dad, and everything familiar to me.

I’m a senior dog, but I still have some mileage left in me, if you know what I mean!

I’m active, playful, social, and very much enjoy being around people. I’ve also lived with other dogs and cats before!

I’m healthy and easy to have around.

But I know the reality is that black senior dogs don’t stand much chance of being chosen.

I had a home my whole life. I was deeply loved. I am not going to understand suddenly growing old alone in a kennel.

I need a home willing to take a chance on an old dog who suddenly lost everything.

I am Muse.
And I want to go home.

Bonzo knows what it’s like to be let down and have your heart broken beyond repair. Yet his hopeful tail keeps wagging whenever someone passes by his kennel.

All he wants more than anything in this world, is a family to call his own; forever.

Will you be the one to finally mend his heart and get him out of kennels just in time for winter?
