The correct answer was 2. Keys and plungers! New homeowners have never had a porcelain toilet or a door that locks. Therefore, our Fondwa team makes sure each homeowner knows how to properly use a key and a plunger.

My Yellow Rickshaw Interview, Part 3! We sat down with Yellow Rickshaw ahead of our House Party on Friday, September 18. We've learned how My Yellow Rickshaw began, now learn about their principles.

Project Rouj: "You also mention My Yellow Rickshaw’s grassroots beginnings and principles on your website: (1) Humor and fun music, (2) Always bring the joy factor and (3) Faith, hope and love, and the greatest of these is love. Can you talk about why those principles mean to you and the band?"

Nathan Klatt: "That’s what it all goes back to. Based on the New Testament and Jesus and Paul, I guess it’s just the bedrock that our band is based on. When we first started, Eric and I were coming off some difficult professional circumstances. So we really needed a safe space to fellowship, brotherhood, work on ourselves as men, as human beings, as followers of Jesus, as husbands, and the band honestly was a safe space to work on those things, a small fellowship community like Jesus did. Even playing in bars, I don’t think anyone is going to argue with having faith, hope and love and those things. I think we love that passage, we hung onto those words, because the world needs a lot more faith, hope and love."

Project Rouj: “Your website says, “From Taylor Swift to Timberlake, Zac Brown Band to Alabama, The Temptations to Van Morrison, Cyndi Lauper to Guns ‘N Roses, TLC to Usher, plenty of top 40 and hip-hop, and even an Irish jig or two, you will hear musical selections from the 1950s to today’s current hits.” How many tunes do you guys cover?

Nathan Klatt: “It’s a lot! The number of songs is well in the 400s. The idea was for us to have a little bit of something to draw or engage everybody. We like to say we play music for ages 8 to 88.”

Earlier this week we posted one of five trivia questions ahead of our House Party on September 18 at Bier Brewery. Time to reveal the answer!

Our question was: What is the native language of Haiti?
1. Spanish
2. Crinoline
3. Klingon
4. Creole

The correct answer was 4. Creole! Around 13 million people globally speak Haitian Creole, with about 2-3 million of Haitian Creole speakers living outside of Haiti. Be on the lookout for next week's trivia question!
