We’re thrilled to announce that $27,036.96 in Spring Classroom Grants will spark new opportunities for ZCS students this coming school year! 🌟

Today’s spotlight shines on 4th Grade Trailside Elementary teacher Madalyn Jacobs and her innovative “Brain Work Block” grant, made possible by ZEF. Thanks to this grant, Madalyn’s classroom will receive strategy-based board games designed to boost students’ executive functioning skills—helping them plan, practice self-control, and problem-solve in fun, meaningful ways. Each week, students will dive into these games during their “Brain Work Block,” building skills they’ll use in academics, friendships, and everyday life.

As we look toward the next 30 years of impact, ZEF remains committed to growing alongside our district and continuing to support meaningful opportunities for students and teachers. This year we proudly funded $72,913.95 in grants supporting our schools, all of it made possible through the generosity of valued partners like The Skillman Corporation. With $45,876.99 in Imagine Professional Development Grants from ZEF, ZCS educators will pursue cutting-edge professional growth through educational conferences, place-based learning experiences with colleagues, and on-campus opportunities focused on AI in education.

Yesterday, Stevie Frank, Technology Integration Specialist at ZCS, brought educators together with her Imagine Professional Development grant of $1,500 and invited them to participate in an on-campus, in-person professional learning experience with author Matt Miller, centered on his “Tomorrow Glasses” framework for thinking about artificial intelligence in education.

Thank you Stevie for being forward-thinking about AI, the technology surrounding it and making our educators comfortable with the speed it is making its way into education. ZEF loves that you brought AI empowerment to ZCS. 💻
