Poetry On Brick Street enjoyed a lovely night of poetry, listening to Natalie Solmer's well-crafted and interesting poems. The reading was a pleasant way to learn more about Natalie and her life as she gave us interesting portraits of her family, ancestry, and her life's journey through poetry. The audience sat enthralled and some good discuss followed after the reading!

Another Hoosier winner! When I first became the Poet Laureate of Indiana, one of the first things I did after talking with the head of the NEA Dana Gioia, was to get Indiana into the Poetry Out Loud program. Congratulations to Jayda Dawn, the 2nd winner from Indiana. Hoosier students are making us proud with their performances in this highly competitive process. I couldn't be prouder of how they've responded. Poetry in Indiana has a bright future. Joyce Brinkman, Indiana Poet Laureate 2002-2008
