LeadingAge Southeast and the LALA - Louisiana Assisted Living Association are proud to support the passage of Senate Bill 145 by Glen D. Womack, State Senator, District 32, an important step forward in strengthening emergency preparedness standards and enhancing resident safety in adult residential care communities across the state.

This legislation would require licensed adult residential care providers to maintain reliable backup power solutions capable of supporting critical operations during emergencies — helping ensure residents remain safe, comfortable, and cared for when it matters most.

We appreciate Senator Womack and the Louisiana House of Representatives for supporting providers and the residents they serve. Having passed both the Senate and the House, the bill will now go to Governor Jeff Landry for his signature.
