What an awesome reminder that God is in control

Italian artist Alfredo Lo Brutto was able to photograph a beautiful picture that many say looks like Jesus with His arms outstretched wide.

Join the Bag Mat Ministry and learn to make sleeping mats for the homeless from recycled plastic shopping bags. More than 500 mats have been made and distributed over the past 4 years. The next workshop is Saturday, April 11th from 9am to 2pm at Grace Presbyterian Church, 518 Roselawn Blvd., Lafayette. Bring a bag lunch and stay for the day, or stay just for an hour. This is a great project for youth service groups. For more information, contact: [email protected] or Bag Mat Ministry on Facebook.

Hello Bag Matters,

The Times received the incorrect date of our Bag Mat workshop.
It is not scheduled for this Sunday.

We are still holding our workshops on the second Saturday of every month 9-2.
and will be meeting this month on Saturday March 14th.

We have a large stockpile of plastic bags. Please bring only flattened bags for now until we can catch up.

Damien Williams coordinator for the Homeless Coalition is our direct contact for the homeless. We have given out so far 10 mats and 10 Care Packs, back packs filled with essentials for the homeless.

Acadiana Home school Key Club used the Bag Mat Ministry as one of their projects this year. Guinness book of world records was contacted to see if there was a world record for making "PLARN".
When the answer was no the wheels turned and the fun began. They got together to have a competition making "Plarn" All the steps were used to produce 20 30" balls by 20 people in 45 minutes. The group cheered "Now We Will Break The Record Next Year!"

So lots going on with Bag Mat Ministry.

Don't forget that we can be used to get community service points.

We need everyone to help get more bags flattened.
