Our most awesome Comeaux High science teacher has passed. I never had the blessing of taking one of his science classes, but we were both runners, so we bonded. RIP Mr. Gary Maurin. What is a good Mr. Maurin story you remember?

“a man of many achievements (Captain of the USL Wrestling Team, Boston Marathon finisher, Iron Man, Red's Superstar, L'Étape du Tour cyclist, Senior Olympics Silver Medalist and many more) he ran, biked, swam, wrestled, bowled, golfed, and even flew kites. He pushed the limits of human endurance -not for medals alone, but for the joy of effort, perseverance, and shared experience. He was a team member and mentor, a volunteer who gave back without seeking recognition, and an encourager who believed deeply in others.”

Funeral date and times are pending for Wayne “Bubba” Begnaud, Jr. of Youngsville, Louisiana, a devoted husband, loyal friend, and man of unwavering faith, went home to see his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on November 6, 2025, in Lincoln, Nebraska doing what he loved most - living life to the fullest alongside his beloved wife, Pam. RIP Bubba, honorary member and #1 supporter of Comeaux High class of 1980.

Wendell Paul Magnon, age 63, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2025, in his home in Branch, Louisiana, with his loving wife, Crystal Cradeur Magnon, beside him, after a short and hard-fought battle with cancer.

The celebration of life will be held at Woodlawn Chapel in Maurice on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Good afternoon! During our meeting last night, we decided we have enough of our reunion decorations built, we can setup on Saturday at Morvants without meeting Friday night. So the Friday night decorations session has been canceled. We still need a few more people to setup Saturday afternoon at Morvant’s Grill. See you soon!
