Join Us This Saturday, June 20th, for the Sunnyside Block Party!
From 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM, the Sunnyside community will come together to celebrate, unite, and serve.
This event is the result of a heartfelt team effort by many men and women of Christ from diverse backgrounds, all working hand in hand to create something special for our neighborhood.
TOTALLY FREE!
What’s Happening:
- Live music to fill the air with joy!
- Free hot food and non-perishable groceries to nourish your body!
- Face painting and a mini circus act to delight the kids!
- Clothing giveaways for those in need!
- Raffles with new and gently used toys, clothes, and bicycles for children!
This event has had its share of challenges, ups and downs, but it has always been driven by our desire to uplift and serve our community, not politics.
To address Harrie Elmb aka Brenda Espinosa Gonzalez, who made a misleading video about some of the event’s organizers.
This event is put on for RAZA by men and women of RAZA!
A Message About the Heart of This Event
Let us be clear:
this is not a political rally. We are not pushing any agenda or party. This is about Jesus Christ and fulfilling His call to love, serve, and bring hope to those who need it most.
We also want to address some misinformation. The video by Brenda Espinosa Gonzalez that circulated has been misunderstood and misused.
The individuals involved: Jenny Martinez, Jenny Salgado of Mujeres del Valle Naciones MDVN, and James Slette of Yakima Valley Hope & Healing Fellowship , are committed to standing against injustice: against ICE, illegal detention, inhumane treatment, and local tyranny affecting our families and community.
While we may have different political views, we all share the same Christian faith and a shared desire for justice and peace.
We are grateful to partner with Living Water Ministries in Sunnyside, WA, Pastor Gumersindo “Junior” Magana and his congregation from Grandview, WA, who will be there to support and serve.
Special thanks to Kenton Gartrell and his wife Izamar Gartrell for their selfless generosity.
Providing seats, tables, and a large grill for all-day community cooking, despite facing negativity from so called “political rivals”.
We welcome all who wish to put their worldly pride aside and actually do something for the people. And not just run around pretending to campaign for the people.
We’re not about MAGA, Democrat policies, or any political division. Our focus is unity, love for our Raza, and sobriety.
This event is a beacon of hope, shining light into the darkness of addiction and poverty in the lower valley.
Come, be part of something meaningful.
We look forward to seeing you there!
God bless!
