Kiwanis Club of Yakima - Downtown

The Kiwanis Club of Yakima was founded in 1921. We are volunteers working together to support our community with a focus on youth. Ste 106 Yakima WA 98901

We meet every Tuesday at Noon at 5th Line Brewing 1015 East Lincoln Ave. The Kiwanis Club of Yakima-Downtown meets every Tuesday from 12-1 at 5th Line Brewing 1015 East Lincoln Ave Suite 106 Yakima WA 98901

Service is at the heart of our club. Our members provide time, talent and treasure to support a variety of causes that support youth, human and spiritual values, adults with disabilities, seni

ors, community beautification and civic programs, schools and education, and other community/fundraising events. We support programs that promote academic achievement and character development recognition programs for students. We support opportunities for teens and adults to develop leadership, improve self-esteem, increase civic engagement and learn life skills through service. We support Kiwanis' global campaign to raise $110 million and eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus. We raise money to provide playground equipment for local elementary schools. We support fitness by providing free bikes for kids (FB4K). We provide financial support camp scholarships for Camp Dudley, and other worthy causes benefiting children. Our fundraising events include our annual Golf Tournament and other fun events.

🚜 A big thank you to the Central Washington Agricultural Museum for hosting this week's Kiwanis meeting!

We enjoyed a great lunch, followed by a tractor-pulled tour of the museum grounds to see the amazing collection of historic farm equipment that has been donated over the years. It was fascinating to learn about the innovation and determination of the early farmers who constantly looked for better ways to get the job done.

Thank you for preserving this important piece of our region’s history and for giving us such an enjoyable and educational tour. We appreciate all that you do to keep these stories alive! 🌾

⛳ Only 2 weeks until the Downtown Kiwanis Golf Tournament!

We're counting down the days to a great morning of golf, community, and giving back. This year's tournament benefits Children's Wishes and Dreams , helping make a difference in the lives of local children facing serious illnesses.

🌳🏊‍♂️ This week we had the pleasure of hearing from Ken Wilkinson with Yakima Parks & Recreation!

Ken shared updates on exciting projects happening throughout our community, including the new Aquatic Center, improvements at West Valley Community Park, upcoming concerts and movies in the park, youth sports programs, and more. Despite recent budget challenges, it’s inspiring to see the impact that community partnerships, volunteers, and local support continue to make across Yakima.

Thank you, Ken, for keeping us informed and for all the work being done to enhance recreation opportunities for local families!

We are incredibly grateful for the impact the Think Twice program continues to make in the lives of youth across our community. ❤️

Think Twice equips youth ages 10–19 with tools and life skills to help build healthy relationships with family, friends, coworkers, and future partners. Through medically and scientifically accurate, age-appropriate education, their dedicated team empowers young people with knowledge, confidence, and support to make healthy choices for their future.
