“Follow Me”
Today we go back to reading Matthew. In this reading, Jesus shows His disciples that God’s purpose is for Jesus to be the Suffering Servant we heard Pastor Chris preach on last week. We hear of cross-bearing and losing our lives only to gain them.

Hope is the quiet confidence that God is present, faithful, and working even when we can't yet see the outcome.

Whatever you're carrying today, entrust it to the One who is faithful. As you do, you'll discover that your confidence rests not in your circumstances, but in the God who holds them all.

“New Way of Living”
In our readings for today, Jesus identifies Himself as the Suffering Servant prophesied by Isaiah. We repeat many of these words weekly in our worship service through the Apostle’s Creed. Jesus’ suffering wasn’t the goal but was a consequence of our actions. The sacrificial goat in the Old Testament didn’t get a choice about being the sacrifice. But the Servant did.
