Given the law's current presentation, too many noncitizens (including U.S. nationals), and even election officials, are unclear about Alaska's voter eligibility rules. The consequences for violations are severe. Alaska needs its voter eligibility law to be clear and concise, to avoid unnecessary mistakes in the future.

Alaska should clearly affirm that voting is reserved for U.S. citizens.
