Cornelius came to greeNest through the Forsyth County Department of Public Health, and his excitement from the moment he walked in was contagious. đź’š

Shopping for his Finally Home appointment, Cornelius was grateful for the opportunity to choose exactly what he needed to make his new house feel like his own. That sense of choice, that sense of ownership, that is what greeNest is all about.

Welcome home, Cornelius. đź’š

givingRooms is an exciting fundraiser being held on September 18th at greeNest, featuring 11 designer-created rooms. While room design is still in progress, photos and details will be shared as the event approaches. Every ticket bought, every sponsorship, and every vote cast directly fuels the work of greeNest, helping provide a couch for a family to gather on, a table to share meals around and a bed to rest in at the end of a long day. It helps a child get a good night’s sleep in a bed of their own, and the stability that comes with that.
When you donate and vote you help greeNest provide essential furnishings and household items for families transitioning out of homelessness and other crisis situations.
The event will be held on Friday September 18th 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm at greeNest, 630 Brookstown Avenue. See more info and get tickets here givingRooms Link

That smile says it all. đź’š

Jennifer came to greeNest through Atrium Health with very little furniture and left with everything she needed to make her house a home. From the moment she walked in, she and her family were met with choices, real choices, and they made the most of every one.

That is only possible because of this incredible community. Thank you to every donor who keeps our showroom stocked and beautiful, giving families like Jennifer's the dignity of choosing what feels like theirs.

Welcome home, Jennifer. đź’š

Huge thank you to our current sponsors for The givingRooms! We still have room for more sponsors!
As our major fundraising event of the year, the proceeds from The givingRooms will go a long way for the families we serve. An impressive $80,000 was raised at our inaugural event in 2025 and we hope to exceed that in 2026. Every dollar raised directly supports the stability, comfort and well-being of the families that are referred to greeNest’s Finally Home and Up Off The Floor programs.
Local designers will each create a beautifully styled room vignette. Community members will be invited to vote online for their favorite room ($20 minimum vote) during a 10-day voting period. The week will culminate in a Friday evening ticketed celebration featuring drinks, appetizers, live music, and a tag sale of the vignette furnishings along with a “Fund the Dream” paddle raise.
The event will be held at greeNest 630 Brookstown Ave, WS NC 27101 on Friday, September 18, 2026 6:00-8:30 p.m.
Email [email protected] or call 336-661-8091 to get connected and find the best sponsorship option for your organization.

Meet Alfred, who helps our warehouse run smoothly behind the scenes. The work may not always be visible, but it makes everything else possible.

At greeNest, our volunteers do more than move furniture. They plant hope.

As we near the end of our Planting Home campaign, we asked some of our amazing volunteers a simple question, "What does home mean to you?" Watch and listen, then tell us what home means to you in the comments.

If you feel moved to give, every gift helps a family transition from crisis to comfort. Donate at greenestws.org/plantinghome

Gary came to greeNest through our partner the Enrichment Center with a clear wish list, a recliner, a dresser, and a few other household essentials. What he did not expect was options. đź’š

Not one recliner on the floor, but four to choose from. Gary left excited about every single selection he made, and we love that for him.

Choice = dignity. That is what your generosity makes possible. Thank you to our wonderful community of donors and volunteers for making sure our neighbors walk in and find not just what they need, but the freedom to choose what feels like theirs. đź’š

Meet Mary, one of the dedicated volunteers who assembles our bed, bath, and cook packs. Every carefully assembled pack that goes home with a family has a volunteer's heart in it. đź’š

A fresh group of volunteers completed orientation last week, and we could not be more excited to welcome them to the greeNest family! đź’š

Whether they are helping families shop for furnishings, sorting and cleaning donations, working in the warehouse, riding along on furniture pickups, lending a hand with administrative tasks, or serving on a committee, every role makes a real difference for the families we serve.

If you have been thinking about getting involved, we would love to have you! There is truly something for everyone at greeNest.
