Old Town Elementary has asked several churches including Bridges to help their students with school supplies this year. With the schools all starting the school year remotely, many of the students and their families are facing increasing hardships and challenges. This is a great opportunity for us to demonstrate God's love to our community.
Here are some of the details and how you can help:
Supply List: (each student will receive the supplies in the Ziploc Bag)
sharpened pencils
cap erasers
small pack of notebook paper
composition notebook
box of crayons - 24 pk.
box of colored pencils - 12pk.
2 Gallon Ziploc/Hefty Bags
Drop-off: Sunday mornings August 2 & 9 from 8:00am-12noon @ Bridges Church - 3151 Reynolda Road, Winston-Salem. Look for a drop-off station under the portico (drive thru).
Packing Event: Sunday, August 9, 3:00pm at the Ministry Center/Fellowship Hall.
Goal: 200 bags
If you need to set up another drop off time, have any questions or would like to help in any way, you can PM Stacey Norris or just ask a question through this post.
Here is a picture of one of each item on the list. With everything included this was less than $15 at Target.

We are excited to announce two new partnerships:

1. Families for Families provided food for 17 families who received additional food. Families for Families is a local nonprofit where individual families buy food for another family in the community and connect with them through local schools. BTG was contacted to distribute the food for selected families at Old Town Elementary.

2. The Novant Mobile Mammogram Clinic provided exams for 20 women.

This July over 90 families served with more than 70 lbs of food each.
