What does it take to navigate life when resources are limited and every decision matters? Yesterday, Crisis Control Ministry invited participants to explore the realities of poverty through an immersive Poverty Simulation.

Participants step into the roles of up to 26 families experiencing poverty and work to provide basic necessities and shelter through four 15-minute “weeks,” while navigating service providers and the realities of daily life.
The experience doesn’t end when the simulation does. We invite participants to carry what they learn into our community with greater understanding and awareness.

Interested in participating or hosting a Poverty Simulation for your community group? Learn more about Crisis Control Ministry’s Poverty Simulation and other Poverty Awareness Programs at crisiscontrol.org.

Founded in 1973, Crisis Control Ministry was built on the idea of neighbors helping neighbors. 💜🤝✨ Since then, it has grown to be the largest nonprofit provider of short-term emergency assistance serving Forsyth and Stokes Counties.

Many individuals have played a role in establishing and growing Crisis Control Ministry, including our founder and first executive director, Rev. Ron Rice. Today, we reflect on some of his wise words captured during his time leading the organization.
