Salem Congregation The Salem Congregation is a church agency affiliated with the Moravian Church in America, Southern Province.

It is a non-profit religious and charitable, incorporated, organization representing thirteen Moravian Churches in the City of Winston-Salem, NC The present-day Salem Congregation organization has evolved over many years. It was first created to manage the settlement and life of the town of Salem in the colonial period of the United States. It began to operate in April, 1772, under the name Congre

gation Council and has operated continuously since that time. Today, it is comprised of the thirteen historic churches that share the Salem God's Acre.

On Sunday, June 28th at 7 PM, our very own Mary Louise Kapp Peeples will be playing in the Sounds of the Summer organ series. This concert will be at Fries Memorial Moravian Church.

Salem Congregation and Saint Philips Moravian Church invite everyone to attend the WORSHIP IN CELEBRATION OF FREEDOM at 7:00 PM on Friday June 19th.

Members of the 10th Ohio US Cavalry will reenact the May 21, 1865 event held at the church where 200 people inside and 600 on the front lawn were told they were free from slavery.

In Honor of America’s 250th Anniversary, this reenactment is being done as our gift to the community. Please come join us! Come early as seating is limited for this event.

Happy Flag Day! 🇺🇸
249 years ago today, the Second Continental Congress approved the design of a national flag.
There have been 27 official United States flag designs so far, many of which can be found flying in Old Salem!
