At the European Women's Conference we were all asked to wear black when we arrived. Here is the banner that stood at the front of the conference room. Janet Cooper spoke about the Unity Women's Desk of the Moravian Church work and the recent consultation about how we can all challenge gender based violence. We're so proud of our Unity Board President, Sister Roberta!

Moravian University announced that Roberta Hoey, president of the Unity Board of the Worldwide Moravian Unity, will serve as the featured speaker for the university’s 2026 Commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 9, in Bethlehem. During the exercises, the university will confer upon Hoey the honorary degree of Doctor of Laws in recognition of her trailblazing leadership and tireless advocacy for social justice.

In February this year the All Africa Conference of Churches officials stood together in black to mark Thursdays in Black. That month the Unity Women's Desk of the Moravian Church Consultation stood together for the same reason in Tanzania. Let us each do it each week - a small and powerful statement.
