This month our guest speaker will be Sheree Wright from the Greater Greenville Rose Society. She will speak on ROSES THAT GROW WELL AND ARE DISEASE RESISTANT FOR OUR AREA! Robert says THANK YOU to all your birthday greetings yesterday! He was in “rose heaven” as he was an exhibitor and judge at the State Fair in Columbia. He even made the news! Attached is the link for our “star”!

In the Canty building at the State Fair, those who toil in the garden are being rewared for their efforts in the Rose Society Show.

Photos from the 2024 Charlotte Rose Show held at Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden this past weekend. Exhibitors from North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Virginia were on hard to show the very best of roses in our region. Best In Show or "Queen of Show" in the rose world went to Ken Wilkinson of Georgia with his rose 'Louise Estes'. Best of Mini-flora roses was won by Steve Arrowood of Shelby, NC with his entry of "Strawberry Kisses' and the Best Miniature was also won by Steve Arrowood for his entry of 'Bob Martin'.
Ken won 7 awards, Steve Arrowood also took home 7 awards. Other big award winners include Robert Myers, Satish Prabhu, James Richardson, Jan Dumas, Doug Whitt, and Jimmy Speas. Thank you to our presenting sponsors at Witherspoon Rose Culture, The Perfect Rose, LLC, and Satish and Vijaya Prabu.
