This comfy bed from a recent donation is a big hit with Spengler & Venkman. They are definitely enjoying the perks of indoor life.
Thank you to whomever donated this cat bed. ❤️

Venkman & Spengler....purrs...❤️❤️

Everyday we spend time with Spengler & Venkman. They showed strong signs of feral behavior. But it appears that they are just fearful. No aggressiveness whatsoever, lots of hissing. As we socialize, we even got some purrs in between hisses.😸
They are coming along great. It's all about consistency. We are very hopeful they will continue to trust us.
So sad how THIN they are, skin and bones. That truly helped us trap them quickly. So the plan is 4 good meals a day.💪
Nothing more rewarding than earning the trust of a frightened kitten. ❤️

I have been working with a resident in Winlock. Every season, kittens show up on their property. And this resident steps up to foster.
The kittens are coming from a neighbors and it has has been on my radar, like SO MANY other locations. When we approach a property, it needs to be deliberate. We ask for permission to trap and we have appointments available in the nearby future. That's the challenge; spay/neuter surgeries for stray/feral cats are difficult to acquire. We also need the resident to help our trapping plans by withholding food.
Sadly, I have had no time to approach the property, so more kittens arrived.
The resident is already fostering a litter of kittens but they advised us of another pair that was spotted nearby. These were smaller kittens. 💔
We acted quickly and set traps. The kittens seemed very hungry and they were. We trapped them in less then 2 hours.
Meet Venkman & Spengler. They are food motivated for sure. They are thin but overall healthy.
Appreciate the resident who helps the kittens. We have spayed and neutered a few of the adults from the neighbors...but there are more.
I am happy these boys are here. Here's to a better future.🥂

It's Wishlist Wednesday!!
Our rescue is supporting lots of kittens. We have a few dedicated fosters BUT recently, several local residents needed help. Their cats had kittens and they didn't want it to happen again. Unfortunately, we had no space, so they have agreed to foster their kittens until we do. In the meantime, we have spayed (or have appointments) their cats.
There are endless challenges in rescue. And providing basic supplies, like food, can be one of them. Kittens are voracious eaters. We have a litter of 4 that eat 6 cans a day. One litter!
Canned kitten food is needed most.
As always, we appreciate the support.

Remember, when you see stray kittens outside, don't wait, take action!
Get them comfortable with people by playing, sitting and feeding them! You will save them from a hard life as an outside cat.💪
