Community is what makes Barrow County special, and last week we got to see it in action.

A huge THANK YOU to the football players from Winder-Barrow High School and new Head Football Coach Russell DeMasi for stepping up to serve in a big way!

After CFIT, one of Barrow County’s middle schools, received donated chairs, those chairs needed a new home at the Wimberly Center, and these young men answered the call without hesitation.

They worked hard helping relocate the chairs and showed what servant leadership truly looks like.

While they were there, the team also toured the Wimberly Center, learned more about our mission, and gathered information about future volunteer opportunities through Spirit of Sharing.

We are incredibly grateful for community partners and students who are willing to give their time and energy to help others.

The future is bright with leaders like these. 👏

Every box packed. Every family served. Every volunteer hour given. It all makes a difference. ❤️

During our June food distribution, Spirit of Sharing was honored to serve:

✔ 160 families
✔ 554 individuals
✔ 75 GNAP summer food boxes for children

This outreach would not be possible without the dedication of our incredible 27 volunteers who showed up to serve our community with compassion and care.

As summer continues, many families are facing increased food insecurity while children are home from school. Because of generous supporters and volunteers, we are able to continue fulfilling the mission our founder envisioned — meeting needs and sharing hope throughout our community.

Today was another powerful reminder of what community looks like in action. ❤️

Through today’s food distribution, families across Barrow County received groceries, support, encouragement, and hope — all because of the generosity of volunteers, partners, donors, and neighbors who continue to stand beside our mission.

At Spirit of Sharing, this is more than a monthly event. It is one of the many ways we live out our commitment to serving children, families, and individuals facing food insecurity throughout our community.

Every box packed, every meal shared, and every conversation held is a reminder that compassion still matters.

Thank you to everyone who helped make today successful. Together, we are continuing the mission of serving others with dignity, love, and purpose. 💙

The next generation is paying attention and taking action.

SOS Board Member Shannon Hammond, recently met with WBHS student Samantha J., who is researching food insecurity in our community and how Spirit of Sharing is working to address it.
