Unfortunately, this IHRA/Piedmont Dragway issue is going to end up in the courts for a long time! When IHRA went to an “All Bracket “ format, the writing was on the walls. I realize that bracket classes were created for a good reason, but it seems like racers, and especially fans, are looking for a little more. Piedmont has been a mainstay big tire (Big Dog), heads up racing and I, for one, prays that this legend is resurrected. Just one opinion 😇

PS- Maybe the owners of Galot (Darana) Motorsports Park will be able to step in and help this Icon breathe again??

Such awesome people that continue to follow us on Facebook! In South East North Carolina, we spend summer preparing for fall racing, as well as winter. It’s too hot here to race locally, so we’re getting our daily driver, the “Mutant Mustang “ ready for fall battles. Daily you say, high 8 second 1/4 mile street car I say. It’s crazy that cars run the times that Pro Stock cars ran in the 60/70’s now. Because it’s a daily driver, I chose to you 2 stages of NO2 as a power adder. This keeps the additional power off of the drive train while we enjoy the car tooling around town. 1995 LT1 based engine, bored/stroked to 396 with an LS converted ignition system. Engine, Trans, Rossler brake, nitrous and nitrous pressure all controlled by a Holley Hp ECU. Trans is a 4L60E with 100% aftermarket hard parts, Precision multi disc converter, 3,800 stall for the street/strip allows us to run it all out or Cruze on those weekend drives. Back halved and 10 pt. roll bar/cage with swing out side bars for easy access when we’re not racing by RaceTech Racecars in Burlington, NC. Russ builds some of the best dragsters and door slammers in racing. 18x30.5-15 Hoosier Pro DOT’s for the track and M/T Sportsman radials for the street on Weld 90, 14x15 rims make switching easy.

We are starting on the F100 431 monster’s suspension. It drives all over the road, so we are replacing all of the bushings, but more importantly, all of the tie road ends. This suspension incorporates replaceable ball joint, tie rod ends, on all of the bars. Check out the next video and you’ll notice that even thought the steering wheel is moving the tie rod isn’t because of the bad ball joint.
