SACCEC celebrated Denim Day at Connecticut College! 👖

04/28/2026

As we continue to recognize Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM), we are preparing for Denim Day, which takes place this year on April 29—the last Wednesday of April.

Denim Day began in response to a court ruling that overturned a sexual assault conviction based on harmful and outdated assumptions about what a survivor was wearing. In protest, women in the Italian Parliament wore jeans to stand in solidarity with the survivor. What started as a powerful act of resistance has since grown into a global movement.

Today, Denim Day serves as a visible reminder to challenge victim-blaming, raise awareness about sexual violence, and stand in support of survivors everywhere. 👖👖🚶‍♀️‍➡️🧍
