Steeple Chase Bike Tour

After careful consideration and heartfelt discussion, the partner organizations behind the annual Steeple Chase Bike Tour- Project Imo, Windham Area Interfaith Ministries (WAIM), and Project HOPE (formerly the Windham No Freeze Project)- have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2025 Steeple Chase Ride. This decision was not made lightly, as we recognize the deep community ties, traditions, and critical fundraising impact this event has fostered for nearly three decades in northeastern Connecticut.

This is not a farewell; it is a regrouping. All three organizations remain deeply committed to Steeple Chase as a cornerstone community event and a symbol of compassion, wellness, and regional solidarity. We are excited to announce that planning is already underway for a bold new vision: Steeple Chase Ride Fest 2026.

One of our beneficiaries has big news! The Windham Region No Freeze Project is the No Freeze no more! Now offering year-round services, the organization is now Project HOPE of Eastern Connecticut. HOPE is an acronym for the year-round services the organization delivers: Housing, Outreach, Prevention, and Emergency shelter. It’s a wrap! 🎉 A huge thank you to everyone who made the 33rd Annual Steeple Chase a success! We couldn't have done it without your support, energy, and participation. Though the ride is over, our work continues. We’re accepting donations until the end of September to further support the vital services in our community. Stay tuned for updates on photos, final numbers, and more exciting things are coming soon!

🌟 Steeple Chase 2024 🌟 is well underway sending off 156 Riders / Walkers off on 6 different routes with a bunch of rest stops supporting them along the way. We truly appreciate everything that has gone into making this 33rd annual event happen!

We are extremely excited!!! Thank you to all the riders, sponsors, volunteers, planners, and everything in between to keep this event coming back every year.

Remember be prepared to wrap up collected fundraising at registration and if you decided today you wanted to ride come on in knowing you can get going with the small limitation that we can't take credit cards.

We ride at dawn(ish)! 🌅 Join us tomorrow morning for the 33rd Annual Steeple Chase! We'll be at the registration table bright and early, ready to welcome you in our vibrant orchid shirts.

📍 Location: 1 Jillson Square, Willimantic, CT 06226, Windham Community Center.

🌤 Weather Update: Saturday the 17th – Expect some clouds early with some clearing later in the day. High of 79°F, low of 66°F. Winds SSE at 5 to 10 mph. There's a very slight chance of light rain, so be prepared for anything...also we live in the northeast where the weather loves to change at the drop of a hat!
