Something big is coming to Idea Forge Studios @ Project Imo here in downtown Willimantic.

We'll give you a hint.. it starts with a "P" and ends with "odcasting"

IFS Members have access to the various studios and technology to bring their voice to the world, and new IFS Community is starting soon... The Broadcast Club (working title for Gen-Xers). Membership to IFS get discounted rates that are already low as we fulfill out nonprofit educational mission.

All skill levels welcome, from beginners to seasoned musicians. No setlist. No pressure. Just a laid-back night of making music, meeting people, and finding a groove.

The first BEATS Jam Society Open Jam was a SMASHING success. **17 people** showed up, plugged in, tuned up, and made some music.

Guitars. Harmonicas. Drum kits. Hand drums. Basses. Vocals. Saxophones. Ukuleles. Tambourines. Maracas. And probably a few things we’re forgetting.

Best of all, we had **everyone from beginners to professional musicians** playing together. No pressure. No egos. Just a super chill evening of meeting people, finding a groove, jumping into jams, learning from each other, and making music.

So yeah... **we’re doing it again.**

**BEATS Jam Society Open Jam Sessions are now happening every other Monday at Idea Forge Studios**, with dates already on our calendar through the end of September.

This time we're opening up even more of IFS. Jam together in the main **Media Creation Studio**, or grab some people and break out into the **Community Room or Collaboration Studio** for a smaller session.

Meet new musicians.
Learn a new song.
Revisit an old favorite.
Try an instrument.
Jump into a jam.
Or just come hang out and see what happens.

And if you decide you want more, BEATS Jam Society participants can officially join the **IFS Community for just $10/month**, opening up access to our **Sound Studio, Art Studio, Prototype Studio, equipment rentals, workshops, community programs, and more.**

**Beginners absolutely welcome. Experienced musicians absolutely welcome. Everyone in between absolutely welcome.**

We are consistently amazed by the youth in our Environmental Impact Program. We just completed a two-week intensive program of youth community conservation projects anchored at our Idea Forge Studios on North Street and Whitewater Park.

Youth were tasked with building their knowledge of urban heat islands, species assessment practices, and invasive species awareness and mitigation. THEN they came up with some really amazing projects to help the community better their understanding of these critical conservation topics. Conservation effort + Youth Perspective = Awesome Science Communication.
