At Thread City Classical Dance, students learn that a star is not the only important person in a production. Our dancers learn that with attention comes responsibility. A dancer may be a star in one dance and part of a group in the next. Ballet performance is not the work of an individual; it is a community that works together. We believe dance is an art, not a competition. In classical arts, by r

eaching for ideals we draw ourselves up further, carefully refining each technique and understanding its underlying structures. Technique cannot be bought, only earned by hard work and careful self discipline. We believe there is value in studying any art for its own sake, regardless of one’s ultimate achievement; therefore, we welcome all sizes, shapes, abilities and ambitions. We further believe that access to dance training should not be limited by family income. Our program goal is to be affordable for all; in addition, sponsorships will be sought to provide scholarships for those students who could not otherwise participate. We believe ballet enhances everyone’s life.
