We know many fathers in the 9-1-1 profession spend holidays, weekends, and special moments serving their communities while making sacrifices at home. Your dedication to both your family and public safety does not go unnoticed.

Juneteenth reminds us of the enduring importance of freedom, equality, and the resilience of those who fought for both. As 9-1-1 professionals, we are privileged to serve diverse communities across the Commonwealth, ensuring every voice is heard and every call for help is answered.

Today, we honor the past, reflect on our shared journey, and celebrate the progress that continues to move us forward.

Congratulations! Welcome to the stork club!!!

On Tues June 2nd Comm II officer Laprade delivered a baby over the phone. We are over the moon that mother and baby were healthy and that Mark had a part in bringing the child into this world. Congratulations Mark on earning your stork pin and certificate.

The Virginia Chapter of NENA joins our public safety community in deep mourning following the tragic loss of Deputy Logan Utt. Our hearts are heavy for the members of the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office as they navigate this devastating line-of-duty loss, and we stand in steadfast solidarity with the Chesterfield County Police Department during the painful aftermath of yesterday's events.

As emergency communications professionals, we know all too well the profound weight of these moments. We honor Deputy Utt’s dedicated service and ultimate sacrifice, hold the injured officers close in our thoughts, and remember the fallen police K-9 who served faithfully alongside them.

To the families, colleagues, and all those impacted by this tragedy: your grief is shared, and you are not alone. The entire Virginia 911 and public safety family stands firmly beside you in support, remembrance, and strength.
