Mental health awareness starts with telling the truth: mental illness is common, warning signs matter, support changes outcomes, and crisis help is available. Save this post, share it with someone who may need it, and remember: you are not alone.

If you or someone you love is struggling or in crisis, call or text 988, or chat at 988lifeline.org.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and if you’ve been carrying something heavy lately, this is your sign to set it down with people who get it.

Anxiety and depression are so much harder to hold alone. Sometimes the simple act of saying it out loud, in a room full of people who won’t flinch, is the thing that starts to loosen the grip.
Our free weekly support group is a no-pressure space to talk, listen, or just sit quietly with your coffee. No fixing, no judgment, no toxic positivity. Just real people, real conversations, and a reminder that you’re not the only one feeling this way.

Comment or DM us for details on when and where to join. We’ll save you a seat.

This May, NAMI Williamsburg is proud to recognize Mental Health Awareness Month and stand with our neighbors to show that no one is alone in their mental health journey.

Mental health conditions are common, treatable, and nothing to be ashamed of, and together we can replace silence and stigma with understanding and support.

Throughout the month, we will share education, stories, and local opportunities to connect so our community can access the support and resources it deserves.

We invite you to follow along, share your story and help us build a more compassionate Williamsburg for all.

A Friendly Tax-Season Tip from NAMI Williamsburg

It’s that magical time of year again… when we all suddenly become very interested in tax deductions.

If you’re looking for a perfectly respectable way to lighten the load before the tax collector comes calling, may we humbly suggest a donation to NAMI Williamsburg?

Not only might your generosity qualify as a charitable deduction, but you’ll also be supporting free mental health education, advocacy, and support programs for individuals and families in our community.

Think of it this way:
You can send all your money to the government… or you can keep a little local and help your neighbors at the same time.

It’s not tax evasion — it’s community investment with paperwork.

Consider donating today. Your accountant might smile…and more importantly, so will the families we serve.

Donate today and support mental health in our community.
